So, summer of 2010, I built my own machine. I't a wonderful WONDERFUL piece that I love so much, I'm able to do so much with it, but recently, i've begun experiencing a few issues with it.

Today was the only day I've ever experienced this, but since it first happened, it's become persistent: At every boot up, I get a long high pitched series of beeps, at about 5 beeps per second, for 2 minutes, and then it stops, and boots normally; everything is completely fine.

Hours later, I find that if my NumLock is on, the series "010101010101010101010101010101010101010101010101010101010101..." is typed with no end. I don't know why it does that, or what instigated it, but it does it every single time, no matter what I'm doing. In addition to that, I can't scroll across bodies of text--I have to backspace to the point i want to edit, and I can't scroll up any pages--it's immediately, and automatically gone to the bottom, no matter what page or application I'm using.

I have a feeling it may be due to overheating. It's a desktop machine and I keep it running on average 23.5 hours/day...so...yea. I'm assuming one of my problems are probably RAM. Aside from the heating issue, if there's any other diagnosis you can see, great!

I have 64bit Windows 7, a 2TB HD, 1GB 9800GT GeForce NVidea card, 8GB memory.

And to sum it up: Beeping on startup (a bajillion/second->then regular boot) fine for a few hours, then random keystrokes and controls, just being a real nuisance.

Thank you answerers--if you could give any suggestions to fix it and even prevent if from happening again, that'd be greatly appreciated! (And I will be moving the computer to a place where it will get more air as well)

a) Write first 3 nonzero terms and general term of the Taylor Series for cos(x) about x=0. Use this series to write the firth three non-zero terms and the general term of the Taylor Series for f about x=0

b) Use the Taylor Series for f about x=0 found in part (a) to determine whether f has a relative maximum, minimum, or neither at x=0. Give reason.

c) Write a fifth degree Taylor polynomial for g about x=0.

d) The Taylor series for g about x=0, evaluated at x=1, is an alternating series with individual terms that decrease in absolute value to 0. Use the third degree Taylor polynomial for g about x=0 to estimate the value of g(1). Explain why this estimate differs from the actual value of g(1) by less than 1/6!

So, I'm a junior looking at colleges and I want to know where I can go with my history:

AP History, English, Calc (BC), and honors german.

GPA of about 3.7

SAT of 1700 (500 in writing, 540 in reading, 660 in math)

I want to major in some kind of engineering. Probably chemical. I would love f I could go to MIT, but I don't think that'll happen. I'm also thinking RPI. And I knoow I can get into Stevens...

I have been writing a memoir/story in a group I made on Facebook and I want a way to get it in the open, and gain a wider audience. It's basically a satirical story about how I want to gain friendship with my English teacher via Facebook, yet she refuses to add me...this has been her punishment. And it is still in the making.

I contemplated using Twitter, then I remembered the 140 character limit and thought it was just a waste of time. I then thought about a blog, but that will not get me as large an audience as I want. I need another site as big as Twitter, but more for long, detailed stories...(maybe not AS detailed as you might be thinking, but DEFINITELY more than 140 characters).

I'm even trying to get the chapters published in school/town newspapers for my area. But now I need an online platform.

I have my story set up in very short chapters, so I know most people will not rethink the idea of reading it, fearing it will consume too much time. All I'm asking is a place to post them online.

Does anyone know of a place LIKE Twitter (popular, and made to post things), but I can post small chapters? Almost "publish" online for a wider audience?

I'm making a ferris wheel in Inventor and I have everything finished, all the components work perfectly together, I even have it so that the little housings going around stay right-side-up. But now I want to animate the wheel so it spins on its own.

Every time I try to drive a constraint, I end up with the same problem: It doesn't know what to do with the fact its path is a circle. If I use flush, the housing either goes down until it reaches the bottom of the wheel, or if I reverse it, it goes as far as the apex, if not shorter.

How can I fix this? What can I do to make the wheel rotate correctly? I have the option of constraining the housings as well in order to rotate the wheel: If I pull a housing up, the wheel rotates with it.

Given the equation:

You will get a graph with maximums at (a, f(a)) and (b, f(b)) [between -1 and 0, and 1 and 3]

What is the equation of the line tangent to both of the maximums?

I just want to verify what I've learned. If I make a mistake, please tell me what I did wrong and how to complete the problem from there.

From what I understand, if you are given an equation and are told to take the derivative, then if the derivative calls for use of two or more uses of the Leibniz rules (chain, product, and quotient), then they should be multiplied together. For example:

f (x) = (3x³-x²+2)/(√x) = (3x³-x+2) • (1/(√x))

f '(x) = ((9x²-2)(√x) - (3x³-x²+2)(1/2√x)) / x

or

f (x) = 1 / (x²+1)

f '(x) = (2x)/(x²+1)²

I have a work sheet and it references [x]...what does that mean?

Im only in my second week of AP BC Calc and i took a precalc course over the summer, so im not exactly sure what this means...

Also, it precedes questions like

the problem is:

r^2+8=6r

i changed it to "r^2-6r+8" and factored it, hoping it might do something to "(r-2)(r-4)"...now i dont know what to do...
