  • Can I claim to be Native American?

I am 1/16 Native American (Cherokee... also Montaukett way back there), but I am like 95% English and have the whitest of white skin and red hair. I'm really proud of my heritage and I want to preserve that, but when I tell people I have Native American in me, they laugh. Can I claim my heritage, or is it lost because of my looks? Would I ever be able to register as a tribe member or the Cherokee or Montaukett Nation?

  • What is the perfect career for me?

I'm going to make a career shift. I'm throwing this question out there to simply get ideas and insights I might not have considered. I understand that this is a serious question so I won't take the answers too seriously.

My degrees and educational background are in engineering.

    I love to solve problems.

I like to create things that are useful, or improve upon them.

I like exploring cutting edge technology and finding new ways to apply it.

I want to have a career that makes a significant impact on society.

I love the mountains and outdoor activities.

I have previous experience working construction, tech support, art teacher, scout master, cardiology researcher.

I hate being forced to do a task that is obviously inefficient and over regulated.

I will never take a job that makes me question my morals. (e.g. door2door sales)

I am very self confident and a go getter, but not the best team player.

I am a computer whiz. I don't mind writing code, but couldn't spend all my time doing it.

I got excellent scores on the MCAT and GRE.

Having time for my family is important.

    I'm a decent artist.

Ok, without reavealing too much more about me, what is the perfect career for me?

  • Name some movies that weren't very good, but everybody has seen them.?

Movies that weren't quite bad enough to walk out of. Something that would get a 50% rating.

Some that I could think of:

    Beethoven (the dog one)

    The Jurassic Park sequels

    Signs

    Flubber

  • When is it time to get rid of the dog?

My wife and I both work from 8AM to 6PM. We have a boxer. He has developed many bad habits like counter surfing and destroying things while we are gone. I figure he destroys $100 of property each month or more. We just don't have the time and energy to give this animal the attention he thinks he deserves. We have twins on the way. It's too much.

  • When cross country skiing, is it better to carry a pack or to tow a sled?

I'm planning a trip over 50 miles over three days. Probably have a 30 lbs. pack and probably more if it's a sled (a good runner sled btw).

  • How far can the average cross country skier travel in a day?

I've only been XC skiing once and really enjoyed it. After I work on technique and training through this winter, I'd like to take a 35 mile back country trip through the Uinta mountains along UT highway 150. The only time I've been XC was uphill 3000ft over 3 miles of virgin slush and then down another 2 miles of pretty steep stuff in about 5 hours so I don't know what my average speed would be on less demanding terrain.

The route I plan on taking starts at 8400 ft, flat for 10 miles, then up to 11000 ft over 10 miles, then all downhill at 5% (probably take downhill skis) for the last 15 miles. The forest service grooms the road for snowmobiles regularly. All this plus a 30lbs. pack.

What would be a good daily distance for an average skier over something like this?

  • What are good replacements for saffron and cardamom?

I'm going to a cheese party tonight. I have to bring a cheese that starts with the letter K so I chose Khoya cheese. I think I'll use it to make pedha, however I can't find saffron or cardamom in the stores nearby. I don't have time to go into town for Indian spices. What are some common spices that I can use instead?

  • Is there any additive in blue top urinalysis cups?

I work at a hospital and would like to pull a prank with yellow jello, and just want to double check that there's nothing harmful in the cups. As far as I can tell, there is nothing in them.

  • Considering a 2001 Isuzu Trooper?

I'm considering buying a 2001 Isuzu Trooper. How is the fuel economy? Are they good in the snow? Anyone tried them out off-road? Are they reliable? Any mechanical issues I should know about?

PLEASE only specific answers as to why you do/don't like the Trooper, and let me know what your experience is with them.

  • How unhealthy is eating a bag of large marshmallows in 60 seconds?

I'm planning on doing this for a talent show. I've eaten that much before with no problem, just wondering if I eat a bag that fast if I'd be more prone to throw up.
