  • How is Zimmerman protected by the Stand-your-ground law?

The Stand-your-ground law states that a person may justifiably use force in self-defense when there is reasonable belief of an unlawful threat, without an obligation to retreat first. However, wasn't his "obligation to retreat" when the police told him not to engage? I'm not trying to stir the pot, I just need some clarification on how he is protected by the stand-your-ground law after he left his car to follow a potential threat, if he was safe in his car and able to provide information to police.

  • Why do I feel guilty?

An old friend of mine that I was stationed with was arrested today for shooting and killing his wife. I had known them for years since basic and after I left the base they were at. We were all very close and I would never have seen this coming. I just wonder why I feel like it's my fault even though I had no part in it.
