  • Questions about silver pitcher?

Cleaning out my garage, I found a silver plated water pitcher made by International Silver Company. I was curious as to the value of this thing, I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere and their website is useless. Also, it has an area near the bottom that is purple, yellow, etc. All kinds of colors, I actually think looks kind of cool, but I am thinking it should not be this way. What it is from, what is it and is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks in advance

  • Blue Ray Q's?

I have a few questions about Blue Ray vs. HD DVD. I know nothing about either so bear with me. I have an old DVD player, will it play HD DVD or Blue Ray discs? Or does each format require a seperate player? Also, with out an HD TV, HD DVD and Blue Ray are useless, right?

So there are my questions. Do DVD, HD DVD and Blue Ray each have to have a different player? And do HD DVD and BR have to have an HD TV? Thanks.

  • Is this illegal??

Is it illegal to cut through a parking lot to avoid a red light? If you break no other traffic rules, say the parking lot is on your right, so you pull in, go through it and come out the other side again breaking no laws and pull back into traffic.

Is that illegal? If so, what would the ticket be for?

I did this today and am just curious as to the legality of it.

  • Is it possible to make a tire explode by...?

...leaving the air hose at a gas station on it too long? Is there enough air pressure in a gas station air hose to make it explode or would air just eventually not be able to go into the tire any more. I know that when they fill big rig tires they put them in a cage, at least the old style tires, but would a normal car tire explode if the air hose were left on it long enough. I was just filling up a tire today and wondering that.

  • DNA and blood transfusions?

I saw an episode of Law and Order the other day where the killer left behind some blood at the crime scene. They tested it for DNA and then got DNA from their suspect and they didn't match. It turns out that the suspect had had a blood transfusion a few years earlier, so the blood left behind at the scene would not have matched the DNA on the swab they took from his cheek.

Is that correct? If he had had a transfusion years earlier, wouldn't the blood he got from that have died off and new blood cells would be floating around now? So, after a few years, his blood would be back to his blood, if that makes sense.

I mean, I can see having a strange result like they got with in a short time after the transfusion, but it seems like after a few years his body would have produced enough new blood that the blood he got in the transfusion would be gone.

  • Itchy itchy bum?

I have a 6yo female English Bulldog and she has an itchy butt. One time about 6 months ago she also had a very itchy butt and when I took her to the vet he said there was an infection under her tail, he called it a hotspot. I don't think that is what this is.

She has also had dry skin in thepast so last night I gave her a bath with shampoo specially made for dry skin and it seemed to help a little last night, but today she is back to spinning on her butt.

So, do you think it is just dry and I need to get a different dry skin shampoo, or could this be something different, like worms? If it is worms, where does that come from and is there anything you can buy OTC to help?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

P.S. I don't mean to be rude, but please don't just tell me to go to the vet, I know that, I just wanted to see if there was other stuff I could try for a day or two first. Thanks.

  • Doggy gravy?

Has anyone fed their dog Iams Savory Sauces? I used to feed my dog dry food with a little wet mixed in, but after reading here what is put into dog food, i switched her back to just the high grade dry food. She eats it, but doesn't seem to like it and I feel kinda bad. So I bought Iams Savory Sauces, which is like doggy gravy, it says it has all kinds of vitamins and minerals, but I want to know if this stuff is really any good or is it just made from the same cow hooves and pig noses as other dog food? Here is a link to their site if you don't know exactly what I am talking about. Thanks.

BTW, I have a 6 yo Female English Bulldog, if it matters.

  • My dog eats c rap food?

Well, not actually c rap, but I asked another question and apparently Pedigree food is junk. I thought since it was a big name brand that it would be good. But, my dog has the runs and everybody here says it's junk. She just recentlly (about 3-4 months ago) started eating Pedigree wet food and has has diarreah most of the time. Beofre that she ate MutroMax dry food, but I changed her due to a minor illness that she has since gotten over. Soo, what is good food? Should I go back to the dry NutroMax? I have no reason not to, she just seems to like the wet a lot better so I kept buying it. Any suggestions? She is a 6 YO English Bulldog, if it makes a difference. Thanks a bunch.

  • Can I do this to my dog?

My dog was sick with some stomach problems a few months ago and during that time the vet switched her to some prescription food. She had previously eaten dry food her whole life (6 years) but the vet switched her to wet food and I just kept her on it even after the illness cleared up. However, she has had diarreah recently and I think it is because of her food. I feed her Pedigree chunky wet food exclusively. She doesn't get any human food. I do swithc flavors of the food, just like from chicken and rice, to beef and rice to lamb and veggies, etc. but it is all the same style from the same brand. Switching flavors isn't a big enough change to give her diarreah, is it? Should I just get one flavor and always giver her that? Or should I change to a different brand or back to dry food? She seems to really love the wet food(I'm sure it tastes better than dry) but she always has diarreah.

  • Why are TV times different in....?

Why do tv shows usually start an hour earlier in the central time zone? I always hear them say on commercials, 8 7 central. Why is that? Do you guys in the middle of the country go to bed earlier than the rest of us or what? I asked earlier and somebody answered that it is because of the difference in times bewteen time zones. That is incorrect. When they say, 8, 7 central, that means that the show starts at 8 in all time zones except the central zone, where it starts 1 hour earlier. I have to know the answer, it has bothered me for years!!

  • Crazy psycho murderer!!?

I was watching Criminal Minds last night and the episode was about some crazy guy that kidnapped 3 girls, held them in his basement and then made them choose 1 of the 3 to kill. He then dropped hammers down for the 2 to kill the 1. Obviously, I know, this is TV. My question is, has anything like this ever happened? Or like the Saw movies, where there is some psycho that kidnaps and holds people and does weird stuff or makes them kill each other? Anything along those lines ever happen in real life? Just curious because we always this kind of killer on TV, just wondering if it has ever really happened. Thanks, links are great.

  • How to keep my grass green?

I have a type of grass that goes dormant every winter. I am not sure what kind it is, so bear with me. So far, it has not gone dormant yet this year, althoug it is not as green as it was during the summer months. Will fertilizing it this late in the year do any good or keep it green longer? Also, do I need to even bother watering it this late in the year? I would like to keep it green as long as possible, but if it is going to go dormant anyway, I don't want to waste my time. Also, what about planting something that gets green during the winter (if there is such a thing) over the top of what I have? Impossible? I would like my lawn to stay green as long as possible, year round if I could, with out tearing it up and re-planting new grass. Any help is appreciated. Ohya, I live in Riverside, California, which is about 60 miles south of Los Angeles.

  • Can't get my email?

I asked this question before, but it is still happening. When I send an email to my Mom, I get it back with that mailer daemon thing, saying the delivery failed. Her husband has a seperate address that goes to the same inbox and when I send emails to that addy, they go fine. Also, she can send me emails and I get them. Her in box is not full and I have tried re-enterin the address and it still doesn't work. Even if I reply to an email she sent me, it doesn't go. She gets them from other people just fine. I don't think I am blocked or it is going to junk mail because then I wouldn't be getting the failure notice. Lastly, these are both old adrresses. nothing new and nothing has changed. ANybody have any ideas what the problem might be? Oh ya, I am sending from a yahoo account to a prodigy.net account. Thanks.

  • Where does this stuff come from?

Alright, I was watching a TV show last night and they were showing how pills are made. My question is, where do the chemicals that make the drug come from? Street drugs are easy. Cocaine comes from the coca plant, heroin from the opium poppy. Some prescriptions are easy also. Penicillian comes from mold. But, where do these new drugs come from? Like the cancer drugs or AIDS drugs or any of the blood pressure or cholesterol drugs? Are there just millions of chemicals out there and if you mix different combos they do different stuff? Or do most come from plants? If anybody has any links or any insight, please share. And please, no stupid answers.
