Can a charge on a sealed Juvenile record keep people from going into the military?
I have a friend who recently tried to join the Army. He's 20, but when he was 14 he was arrested for aggravated assault, which is apparently a felony. His records were sealed when he turned 18, but they apparently unsealed them when doing a background check. They saw the charge and told him that there was nothing he could do; he would never be able to join the military.
My question is whether they can do that or not, or whether they do that to everyone. This is the first I've ever heard of a juvenile charge keeping people out of the military.
