  • How do I tell my daughter's father that I'm moving 9 states away?

My child's father has been an absent parent for over 95% of her life. She doesn't know him and is withdrawn whenever he comes to visit. I know that it would take time before she gets used to him being around but the problem is, is that I'm moving within the next two months. How do I tell him and does he have any legal standing to prevent this from occurring. Paternity has been established and he currently pays child support through the court system.

The reasons I'm moving is because, where I live now is not the safest place to raise a young child, the school system where I'm going to move is superior in every aspect and my entire family is there to help and support me.

  • Can a Support Magistrate deny a custodial parent childcare expenses because she is not working?

I'm disabled and am in need of assistance in caring for my 3 and a half year old daughter. When I tried to explained this the Support Magistrate in Family Court, he stated that I needed to be working or be attending school. He also said that he didn't want to risk, the father quitting his job due to his financial obligation for child support being to high.

My daughter's father who had been out of her life for 3 years, had just expressed an interest in being an active parent. This is something I've always wanted, but now I'm afraid that if I put in an objection to the Magistrate's ruling, he wouldn't be there for her, or worse try to get joint custody. Should I suck it up and forget about it, or fight for what's right?

  • Is it alright for my sister to date my ex? ?

My ex-boyfriend and I have been separated for over 10 years. However, kept in contact as friends on and off during the entire time. What complicates things are the fact that one of his brothers is married to one of my sister and had been for 19 yrs. They have one child together and so my ex and I share a nephew. Now the problem begins with my other sister. Whenever he visits his my brother in-law (his brother) out of town he makes a point to spend time with my other sister who lives five minutes away. On his first visit, my ex and my unmarried sister went out to dinner, she claims it was nothing to it. On his second visit, he asked to stay at her house, as his brother does not have the room. Thank God she said no. Now on his current visit he asked my sister to visit him at his hotel room. I was shocked that my sister didn't turn him down flat. Am I wrong to be upset? Should I tell my sister how I feel? Should I tell my ex to back off? Why can't she see that he's out for more then just friendship with her or am I'm reading to much into this "relationship"?

  • How do you tell Grandma this is not her child, it's mine?

While giving birth to my daughter almost 3 years ago, I had major complications and had to remain in the hospital 9 months after she was discharged. During this time I've my sister and mother had taken care of her. I know this was diffcult especially for my mother (due to her advanced age). Although I appreciate all of her hard work and would have been lost without her, how do I tell her it's time to let go and allow me to be a mother to my child.

It was hard enough to form a bond with my only child, and now it's even harder with all of the interference from her. Because of her age my mother is unable to live alone, so I take care of her financially. But the constant interference and the negative remarks on how I'm caring for my child is starting to take toll. How do I say thank you for help but I got this, without seeming ungrateful?
