I'm looking for the title of a story about a boy and an African American man (maybe Isaiah?) who are stranded on an island in World War II. The boy is from a wealthy family and is sent from Britain to America. I think the father ran a sugar refinery, and I think they get stranded in the Caribbean ... sound familiar to anyone?!

My three year old can be a really sweet kid, but sometimes he does things that make me worry.

Today I came home, he ran up to see me and hug me, then got quiet and told me one of his fish was dead. Santa got him 3 goldfish at Christmas and the aquarium is in his room. So today during his quiet time (he does not nap anymore) he reached in and grabbed one. I can understand the curiosity, but then when I asked him more questions, he told me he stepped on it. Then when he described what happened later, he explained he stomped on it a bunch of times. He claims he felt sad by the whole thing, and after talking about what happened at length ... well, he's saying the right things, but I don't know.

What really bothers me is the lack of compassion for a living thing. I am really disturbed by what happened.

I am at a loss - any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't mind helping someone out if they're genuinely stuck, but I get sick of people posting their homework on here for someone else to do. Sometimes I think it's fun to play around with this, but I'm starting to question my actions....
