Canon Lens Recommendation?
Hi. I am an amateur photographer/ videographer who wanted to get some outward opinions about a lens purchase. I was looking for another lens to add to my setup, preferably a lens that would preform well for video and in low light, most likely a prime. I already own the Canon 50mm 1.8, and I was considering buying the Canon 28mm 1.8 as another option, at a wider focal length. However, I was wondering if it's really worth $450+? Or is there another lens I should purchase instead? It could be an off brand like a Sigma or Tamron, just has to have AF, and preferably wider than 50mm. I would like to pay $450 or less, I was wondering if anyone knew of better options I was not aware of.
Thanks
1 AnswerCameras8 years agoCanon 7D vs Canon T3i , ISO Noise performance?
I have seen a few contradicting reports regarding the Canon EOS 7D having the same low light ISO performance as the Canon EOS Rebel T3i (600D), due to the fact that they share the same APS- C Sensor. While I don't expect the 7D to have better actual sensitivity at the same ISO (I'd look to a full frame Camera such as the 5D Mk. II or III), what I'm trying to find out is- does the 7D have less noise at the higher ISO's than the Canon T3i?
Surely it has to, I don't think Weatherproofing, a better viewfinder and twice the burst would make the 7D cost twice as much. If someone could point me in the right direction, I am looking to upgrade my T3i later on for Concert photography and this information would be of great help.
Thanks!
4 AnswersCameras8 years agoDSLR Settings for shooting Fireworks?
I am attending a 4th of July Fireworks display on a bridge in my area, and I was wondering what settings would be best to get the results of some good firework photos. I will be shooting on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i using the standard 18- 55mm IS II Kit Lens. I am looking for what settings will give me good, still images of Fireworks, similar to those you'd see online. I would like to know: What ISO, Shutter Speed, Exposure, Aperture etc. to use on the camera and lens I mentioned earlier. And YES I will be using a Tripod because I know how difficult it is to shoot night scenes without one. Suggestions and Settings from Pro Photographers would be awesome, 10p for best settings and suggestions. Thanks!
4 AnswersCameras9 years agoCanon 18- 55mm Kit Lens Hood/ Shade Recommendation?
I have just purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR camera last Friday, and after a few days of shooting in Williamsburg Virginia I have noticed the dreaded sun- flares creeping in on a few of my shots. I'm using the standard 18- 55mm IS II Kit Lens, with a Rocketfish 58mm UV filter. So, I need a decent lens hood (preferably under $20) that can prevent sun-spots/ flares and accommodate the filter and a lens cap.
I have seen the Vello Hood on B & H for $15, which is reasonable and the reviews are good. Should I purchase this hood? Or do you have any recommendations for a Hood or Shade? Any information and recommendations will be awesome. 10 p for best answer.

2 AnswersCameras9 years agoFilmmakers: Canon EOS Rebel T3i vs. T4i?
I am an aspiring photographer & filmmaker and I am planning on purchasing the Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR camera. I have done an extensive amount of research, what camera is in my budget, features of DSLR's, Canon vs. Nikon etc. I am an experienced non- DSLR amateur photographer & filmmaker and I have been planning to get the T3i for months now. However, I was somewhat torn when I heard Canon's announcement of the EOS T4i just last week.
What sways my opinion was the continuous silent Auto-focusing during Video, Improved Stereo mic, Higher ISO and faster FPS during multi- shot. Sure, the Touch Screen is an added touch, but I debate weather the extra money will really be worth it. I have seen countless articles explaining how the Lens proves more important than the body in many cases (ie. Canon T3i w/ 18- 135mm vs. Canon T4i w/ 18- 55).
So- here's my question- should I just go for the T3i if it suits my needs or go the extra mile with the T4i? Here are some things to consider before you answer: 1) I am not buying a better lens [aside from the kit lens] off the bat. Since it's my first DSLR, I figure I can wait and make that decision with more experience. 2) Money's not too tight. I am able to make some money in the mean time to afford the T4i if needed. 3) I will be using the camera extensively to shoot video, in addition to normal photography. Would continuous Auto-focus be worth the investment?
Please note, none of the features I mentioned in the T4i I desperately "need". I just figured I would ask Yahoo! Answers for another opinion. If anyone has gotten their hands on a T4i already (doubt so), shot video alot with the T3i, or can offer any DSLR filmmaking knowledge it would be appreciated. Thanks a ton!
**Note, please do not suggest other cameras, I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I'd prefer to leave those out. Also, Photographers feel free to offer insight as well!
8 AnswersCameras9 years agoConvince my parents to let me buy a DSLR camera?
I am a 15 yr old aspiring photographer. I have enjoyed photography and film making for several years, and I feel I need to upgrade to a better camera I could potentially use for school courses and perhaps a small photography business.
I have chosen a Canon EOS Rebel T3i after much research. It is an $800 camera*, and my parents are very skeptical about letting me purchase it. They say that this money could be put towards a better investment, however I am still a ways away from buying a car, and I hardly ever spend money.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how I could convince my parents into letting me buy it, or maybe another investment that could be much more worth- while, please let me know.
*This is the camera I am planning to purchase, so please, no suggestions for other cheaper cameras.*
3 AnswersCameras9 years agoPanasonic Palmcorder PV A226 Fisheye Lens?
I have an old Panasonic Palmcorder PV A226 Vhs-c Camcorder. It has the threads for a Lens, but I'm not sure how many mm's it is. Can anyone show me a Fisheye lens that could work, or how many mm's the lens is?
