Why should a Windows 7 user upgrade to Windows 10?
People have been asking me this. What are the benefits, actually? Windows XP users had the same question about Windows 7, but there is a huge difference here- Windows 7 was and still is reliable.
I'm not here to bash on Windows 10 but I might since I am frustrated.
I'm legitimately wondering what an average user (who likely would not use Metro Apps at all) would get out of it.
I have not seen ONE PC that was upgraded to Windows 10 that has no major problems. Note I said upgraded, not from a clean install.
I love the OS, but it's been almost 8 months since the official release, and after a year and a half of Insiders testing it, it's just getting ridiculous. I am really disappointed.
Are these really the same guys who made such incredible and reliable software such as Windows XP, 7, and 8.1?
And once again, is it worth it at all? I can't convince people myself if I tried.
Once Windows 7 becomes obsolete, I may have to move to Linux despite the lack of user-friendliness. I really don't want it to come to that. THAT is really why I am asking this question.

14 AnswersPolitics5 years agoWhat s with this "camera hacking" I have been hearing about lately?
I see people everywhere putting tape over their cameras. I have a few questions about this:
1. Wouldn t the light turn on if the camera is in use, or would the hacker prevent that somehow?
2. What would they get out of seeing me?
3. Doesn t putting on and taking off tape ruin the webcam or at least the quality due to tape marks?
Thanks!
3 AnswersSecurity5 years agoResuming videos is making my volume louder each time?
This happens on multiple computers:
So I could be watching a video, listening to a song, on any program or YouTube or something, and pause it. Then, when I resume, the volume is significantly louder.
After I press the volume down key, the volume is immediately barely audible.
Again, this is on multiple laptops on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Any idea what causes this?
1 AnswerSoftware5 years agoShould I sell my Nintendo 64?
I love the N64 system. I think it had the best games ever made, or at least the most revolutionary. It was all 2D games before that. Anyway...
I have a Nintendo Wii alongside the N64. I jail-broke the Wii and put some N64 games on it (The ones I already own of course), although they are very glitchy and WAY worse than the real thing. Mario Kart 64 is too sensitive when it comes to turning, Goldeneye 007 has no sound and half the screen is white, etc. The PC emulator is better, but still just not the same quality as the cartridges. But, it is still another console to be plugged in and the games are not so easy to store.
The console itself is in amazing condition, but the N64 controller's joystick sockets have been wearing out, as most N64 controller's joystick sockets do.
So should I sell it, or is it worth keeping? Will it become a high-priced thing in the future?
I would LOVE to have a modded N64+Wii/Wii U. Is it possible to get that instead?
Thanks!
8 AnswersOther - Games & Gear5 years agoGaming on a newer laptop vs an older desktop?
So I have a homebuilt PC from about 2010, with a 500 GB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce graphics card (don't remember the model but it was on the cheaper side with DVI and VGA), and 4 GB of RAM.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5547 with a 1 TB HDD, 8 GB of RAM, Intel i5 4th gen, and Intel graphics.
I mostly just play Halo 1, The Sims 3, Project 64, and GTA: San Andreas.
My question is more about how much it affects the computer than their capability of playing it. They both seem to be able to, although The Sims 3 could use more RAM than 4 GB. I feel like it would strain the laptop.
Any thoughts?

If you do, do you think there should be something similar during the Windows 10 Setup?
2 AnswersSoftware5 years agoWhy is there such a big "Inner Bezel" on my Dell Inspiron 15 5547 screen?
There s the plastic bezel, which I understand, but there is also this black space that feels like it is part of the screen, but it never shows anything. It s just some black border. I know on our old CRT monitors, I can just stretch the display to go on those "borders", but on my laptop LCD I can t do that it seems. It s just weird to me. This is on all 3 of my 5547s, 14 and 15 inch. If I could utilize that space...
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks5 years agoAre Dell Inspiron refurbished laptops reliable?
I have an Inspiron 15-5547 that I have been arguing with Dell about for a year and a half (The issue is the Touchpad gestures not working often). The senior team is willing to replace the system after replacing the motherboard with a bad one. However, it would be replaced with a refurbished laptop of the same model. I have had horrible experience with their refurbished Venue 3840 replacements, so would this be any more reliable than my current laptop (Which I take very good care of)? Thanks!

They are really useless otherwise...
3 AnswersYahoo Answers5 years agoIs America going down the drain?
Any President that gets elected in 2016 will not be a good President. Out of the hundreds of millions of Americans, we get these people. So my opinion is obviously yes.

I mean, they both help their countries release the political anger that has been building up inside them and use that anger for their own opinions, right? And both racist, as well.

2 AnswersRock and Pop5 years agoIs the Dell XPS 8900 reliable?
I have been seeing lots of motherboard failures in the Amazon reviews, and yet it seems to be the best option available. Please let me know if you have a better desktop in mind as well. It must have an Intel 6th Gen processor.
Desktops5 years agoMicrosoft Outlook 2010 keeps asking for my password to outlook.com and will not let me log in?
I tried reinstalling Office, reinstalling Exchange Outlook Connector, and disabling plug-ins. I also tried clicking Repair in the Account Settings. The Exchange logon window just keeps popping up no matter what I put in. I know it is the right password since it works on outlook.com. It's the same account used for Windows. The OS version is Windows 10. Thanks!
1 AnswerSoftware5 years agoAre there any combo video game consoles being sold, or how do I make one?
I have an N64 and a Wii. If there is a safe way to merge them into one system, that would be great. I already tried N64 games on the Wii, it was terrible.
Otherwise, I want to buy a combo system with those 2 included (or with a way for me to add them). Thanks!
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games5 years agoHow do I use File History on one computer to move files to another computer?
I used File History to back up my Windows 10 Dell Inspiron 5547 on a Seagate external HDD before a technician came to fix (or really break) it. That computer now does not show up on the screen.
My desktop computer is also running Windows 10. I would like to put the File History backup from my Dell Inspiron 5547 onto my desktop computer. Unfortunately, this is not as easy as with the Windows Backup and Restore tool.
I tried going to Settings-->Update and Security-->Backup-->More options-->Restore files from a current backup with my external HDD plugged in, but it says "No file history was found".
How do I get my files onto the desktop computer?
Thanks!
