My husband and I have known this couple who has been married as long as we have been. about 22 years. On the outside they looked liked the perfect couple. Yesterday, the wife confided in me that things have not been right for a very long time. She told me that she has had some issues for several years and basically shut down emotionally with her husband. He did everything he could to make her happy. She had a very hard childhood. Last year, she started to wake up from the fog she had been living in for so long. But her husband had had enough of the neglect and has emotionally left the marriage. Oddly enough, when I told my husband about it, he told me that the husband had been confiding in him for several months about how he was unhappy, but that just couldn't shake his wife enough to leave her. He is just too hurt right now to come back to her fully. What kind of advise should i give her to try and win her husband trust again so he's not afraid to love her without fear?
