I'm here to... answer questions, i guess?
How do people know what number to call when it just says "1-800" and the company name?
It doesn't really happen in my country, so i'm not sure how many companies do this, but for example, the DIRECTV commercials with the "don't attend your own funeral" stuff always tell you to "call 1-800-DIRECTV" at the end. I'm pretty sure phones only have those keypads with numbers, and "3444777332228888" wouldn't make sense as a phone number. So, whenever people do stuff like that, how do you actually know what number to call?
4 AnswersLand Phones8 years agoIs unused hard drive space technically "in use" to let the system know it's unused?
I always thought each byte of "unused" space would be set to a certain value or something in order for the system to know that it can still be used, and so the byte would be "in use" to store that information until you overwrite the data with something actually useful. Does hard drive space actually work like that?

So, i somehow managed to get Minecraft Alpha v1.2.5, i got a furnace thingy, and since i can't find coal anywhere i decided to make charcoal. The problem is, when i tried, it didn't work in any way. I put wood planks in the top and bottom square, but it doesn't work for some reason. It just... doesn't. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?
