Which one is prettier? The middle name is Samantha.

It's a long distance relationship. We'll have been together for 1 year and 8 months tomorrow. He mailed me my engagement ring just last month. He's joining the military. He was going to chose a job that would get him shipped to where I live and in October! We would have been together and been able to see each other in 2 months. But he told me that's not the job he wanted, that he wanted to do something else where he wouldn't be shipped to where I live. His exact words were "I'm not going to have a career I don't want just for some girl." I told him the "some girl" really hurt my feelings and he said he didn't mean it like that but I know he did.. Now I never said I was mad about his decision. I simply expressed my concerns that if we didn't see each other soon I didn't think we were going to make it to the wedding. He said, "I can do it with or without you."

Then yesterday he told me that he would be a lot happier if he were single and trying to start his career so that he wouldn't be so stressed out. I know his dad has been talking to him and trying to change his mind about getting married at twenty-two. I'm an understanding person and realize he has so many other things going for him and he doesn't need me right now but I don't see why he had to give me a ring and promise to marry me if he wasn't serious. Why ruin some poor girl's life for no reason?

What makes me mad though, is that I'm the one who got him thinking about a career. When I met him he was sitting on the couch smoking weed. He had no direction in his life or any hope of a successful future. I told him since we were getting married and starting a family he needed to start thinking about how he is going to provide for us. In the beginning he used to always say "I'm doing this for YOU, I'm doing this for US." Now he's doing it for himself. I fixed his life and now he doesn't need him anymore so he's just dropping me and leaving me with nothing.. How am I supposed to deal with this.......?

When you're truly in love with someone does everyone else just suddenly become unattractive and sexually/romantically invisible? Or do you still find other women/men attractive but they could never be as beautiful to you as your significant other? How does that work? Opinions?

How do you appear happy on the outside when you're dying on the inside? And do you think that if you just "think positive" and have a certain mindset that one day you will in fact achieve happiness? Or do you think acting happy when you are not will become exhausting and leave you feeling even more depressed? Thoughts?

I've been depressed for 5 years. I continue to regret starting a relationship with my current boyfriend. We've been together for 1 year and 3 months now and are engaged. I feel like I'm ruining his life and I'm dragging him down with me. I have crazy mood swings. I'm no fun and an absolute bore. I told him this last night and he got upset and just kept saying "You promised me you would never leave me." He doesn't see it as me caring about him because I know that I am unable to make him happy at this point in my life. I just want him to be happy even if that means he has to be with someone else. I wish that someone could be me but I just don't see it happening. He even complains to me that all I do is stress him out and that I am in fact dragging him down with me. He told me to "just get over it and be happy." But I don't think I can "just get over it." Any advice?

Do all your feelings for your past girlfriends/boyfriends just go away? I know mine did but I'm worried about my boyfriend feeling the same way..
