hi I'm 14 and need some career advice....Whenever my relatives ask me about what job I want when I grow up I usually say that Im not sure and then they reply "YOu're 14 and you dont know what you want to become when you grow up?!" Im just soooo confused......Im pretty sure my job would be related to science....Is it necessary to decide your career path from 9th grade?My mom says I should keep a goal for my career from this age!! Some people say its not necessary to know what career you are going to take and that its just important to study well in high school.......IM SO CONFUSED!!!!

Having hot chocolate in NEW YORK

I was experiencing the sound of the plane after 1 year. The plane was rather small as I had expected; it was a short distance to travel from St.Louis to New York. As soon as I got settled in the plane it was as usual I had some orange juice. After having some refreshments I dozed off to sleep with the vibration of the plane. An hour later I woke up to see that the plane was landing I could see the beautiful concrete jungle. Tall rectangular structures were popping into the clouds. I couldn’t wait to see one of the largest urban cities of the world. New York was a place of which I had only a faint shadow of memories, as my last visit was 5 years back.

I felt the hot summer air of the LaGuardia airport in New York. After a while we left the airport and rented a car for our travel. In no time we hurried to New Jersey. It took a 3 hour drive to New Jersey. We got settled in the motel and left for our first priority of traveling all the way to New York, ‘The Global Trivia singing contest’. The contest took place in a Hindu temple located in a famous town called ‘Flushing ‘. We had great fun hearing a taste of Indian live music.

Our trip was only supposed to last for a few days. After the music contest was over we left for New York. It was 2 hours to midnight and we kept driving. Both lonely and crowded places appeared. As we were driving in a spot of crowd we saw bright light coming from the other side of the road. It was appearing in front of us like heaven. There was a sudden break which made us turn into the lane. It was 12:00 A.M and I could see rickshaws, Taxis, Light, malls, people, roadside bands, restaurants, and large screens. I could spot about 10 roadside bands. It was truly one and only times square. Large screens with bright light gave me amazement, excitement and red eyes. As we kept walking I saw the famous Cocoala commercial. My eyes were wide open even though it was supposed to be my 4th hour of sleep. I started jumping in amazement, “We’re in Times Square! We’re in times square!” I was definitely surprised to enter Times Square in the middle of the night.

After a long round of walking we sat at a small place with white tables. I lifted my head and looked at the screens of time square. I felt the hot summer air with light in bright spots of night everywhere. I couldn’t believe my eyes. New York is surely a beautiful concrete jungle.

Suddenly I thought came in my mind of me living in New York as a grown up person. I thought of myself walking in the streets and shopping, traveling in the taxis and rickshaws. As I kept thinking and looking I started feeling hungry. I, my parents, and my brother looked around until we could see our favorite words on the banner, “STARBUCKS COFEE”. I ran into the shop and looked at the menu. I had nothing new; it always large size hot chocolate with extra sugar and whip cream. In spite the variety of drinks listed on the menu I always chose my favorite drink. After a few minutes I could see the cup placed on the pick-up table. I slowly held the cup and took it to the table outside. I had the best comfort of my whole life. Warm and sweet hot chocolate flowed through my throat along with a beautiful view of the bright screens. It was the time of my life! When it was 1 hour after 12:00 we left Heaven Street.

The midnight White house

We had to go home now. I had a heavy heart after leaving Times Square. The taste was still there in my mouth. It was sad until I saw something that brightened my face. My dad had parked the car in front of a white building. The building, it was glowing with yellow rays in the front of it. I came out to see the American flag on top of a glowing dome. The place was Washington D.C with the capitol in front of my eyes. This place was completely different from the place I had hot chocolate. I couldn’t believe my eyes to see surprises coming along the road every spin of the wheel. I stood in front of the glowing white house with a pose,smile and a bright face while my dad took a picture of me. We kept walking and saw different monuments coming along the side walk. And finally we reached the Whitehouse. We could see a faint and dark view of the Sleeping White house. Even with the darkness it was very beautiful.We rook a few pics and started walking back to our car in the night path. I got excited when we drove back expecting another surprise on the way but there was nothing except for home which was unexpected in this case. I woke up drowsy with only a few hours of sleep. Was it all a dream of few hours?
