  • How to get Work Abroad?

I am an American looking to work and travel in Europe. I speak German and a little French. Mostly I'm looking for seasonal work such as tour guide, bartender, hostel work, at a ski lodge, etc. If you've done this before, I'd like any information on how to do this. Thank you.

  • Can someone tell me what is wrong with tax and spend?

As I see it, it's probably what we need right now. The gov't takes those taxes and re-invests them into goods and services, which in turn, gets more people employed, who then spend their money and pay their taxes. Which gets re-invested again and so on...Is this what tax and spend is?

  • How can anyone dispute the ineptitude of G.W.Bush after just 2 days of a new administration?

I think the faults of the past administration have been glaringly shown. and Bush Jr. must be extremely embarrassed.

  • Is anyone scared that Christian Conservatives are taking over this country?

They don't believe in birth control so they are multiplying way faster than any other demographic. And they want to take away all of our freedoms. (No science in schools, banning books in our libraries, holding back women's rights, opposing anyone who is not christian, etc.) There is nothing wrong with guns, god and country in moderation, but that's not what America is all about.

  • Keep government out of our lives...?

Republicans ay they want gov't out of our lives but yet they are for:

gov't telling women what they can and can't do with their own bodies.

sending our kids to countries no one wants to go to.

and allowing the gov't to spy on our communications (patriot act).

My question is, and I mean this seriously, how do you justify this contradiction?

  • We should stand up and commend Palin?

for bringing the hypocrisy of the republican party to light.

Teach Abstinence and Family Values- as her own daughter gets pregnant.

Keep Government out of Our Lives- as she uses her political influence to settle a family matter.

Stop Big Government Pork Barrel Spending- as her own state reaps in the most money in pork barrel spending per capita. And she even hired a lobbyist to get more.

For all of this I thank you Sara Palin for showing the country republicans true colors.

  • Do republicans defend the likes of Kenneth Lay?

I think that they do. I don't quite understand it though. Most republicans are hard working, just like the democrats, but yet they defend someone and an ideology that exploits them. Don't they see that the republicans want to govern like a business and cut the bottom line. Don't they see that they are the bottom line and their jobs are going overseas, that their social security is being spent and they're told to invest for themselves, and that their health care is giong to the highest bidder even though they've paid into it for years. They think that Wal-mart is the answer to all of their consumer needs, when really it is the absolute epitomy of the problem.

  • What kind of government is it when...?

they offer the same life for everyone? I mean that when you're born you have the same right to health care and education, even if you're born rich or poor? You start at an even playing field from the momont of your birth.

  • Why is race and gender so important to Americans?

Other nations have elected women and minorities with apparently no problems. Why is it such a huge issue in America?

  • Why are Republicans afraid...?

...of legislation concerning global warming and of legislation dealing with alternative energy sources? Don't say it's because of job losses, because we all know that as many jobs that are lost will be created in new areas of energy production.

  • Good summer reading?

I'm into real life fiction - literature, like John Irving, Gabriel Garcia Marques and historical fiction, like Da Vinci Code, but not as cheesy. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.
