  • Is this type of tickling abuse and is this normal?

I don't normally seek advice or counsel from Yahoo, but I don't know where else to go at this point. I've recently started my second year of college as a commuter, and as I am beginning to view things in a different light, I believe my dad is abusive. It may seem silly, but he used to pin me and aggressively tickle me until I couldn't breathe and thought I was going to vomit. I would scream for help and tell him to stop but he wouldn't until my mom intervened. It was like he felt powerful when he could pin me and control me. He doesn't really do this often anymore (thankfully). What he does do more often is yell and call me horrible names. I've started to move into a serious relationship with a young man. We both have solid morals and treasure our faith, but my dad can't seem to handle this. He freaks out and threatens to keep me in the basement and not let me leave the house. He has shoved me, held me to the wall with a fist in my face, and even pushed me off of my bike. Eventually he will calm down and apologize, but he will just do it again in a week or so.

*I will continue details in comments cause I ran out of space...*

So... I don't have a clue what to do. I don't want to report him because my mom and I need him. We really do love him, but I'm scared of him and of the longterm effects this might have on me. Anyone have experience with this or have advice to give me to cope and make the best of this situation? I seriously would appreciate it.

    Thank you in advance!

  • Acoustic Guitar truss rod problem?

My first guitar (Breedlove C250 SRe Passport) started to have buzzing issues. The action was too low so all the strings were buzzing. The neck was about perfect so I figured I would take this one in to a trusted shop as I have had problems with this guitar in the past and I didn't want to mess with it. I brought it in and explained what was going on the guy took it back and adjusted the truss rod and raised the action a lot. Now the action is really high at the 5 and 8 fret and still low at the 12 and 15 fret.

It is almost unplayable so I called a friend to come and look at it he adjusted the truss rod 1/8 turn to the right twice with out any change at all. (Yes I know you lower action at the saddle not the truss rod but we can't as the guitar will start buzzing. The neck is bowed.) the guitar now buzzes at times up by the nut.

What should I do? How can we straighten the neck back out? I would rather not take it in again, but will if necessary. Thanks!
