My incubator with chicken eggs got unplugged?
This is the first time I have tried to hatch chicken eggs. I bought an incubator and the eggs had been in there for eleven days yesterday. This morning when I got up my incubator had been unplugged. I think it had probably been 14hrs. The house temperature was 70 degrees. Will they still hatch?
5 AnswersBirds1 decade agoMiniature Horse behavior?
I have a miniature horse colt that is now 10 months old. I got him when he was 2 months old because a friend of mine took in a whole herd and his mother was in such poor shape. He was always real docile, and acted like eor on Winnie the pool until recently. The vet suggested we get him another horse so he could learn social skills and we did but she was like 8 inches taller then him and extremely bossy, pushing him and practically running over him. He became ill, laying around and losing weight and I sold the mare because she was so pushy and hard on him. The vet suggested before he came out, worming him good and giving him more feed and that really got him feeling better. I got him some pygmy goats for company so he wouldn't be alone; with just him and the 6 chickens that run in the same pen with him. Any way he is feeling alot better and he runs the little billy goat biting at him. He has started playing with me the same way. He bites at my boots, the toes and he knows where the tops of my boots are and rears alittle at me and you can tell that's what he is doing is playing with me. He doesn't do it to Absolutely anyone else that comes in the fence with him. I can gently goose his front legs and he will go down on his knees and keep biting at me. What does this mean? Is he bonding or do I need to be concerned with way he is playing? I can run and he will just trot at me and rarely get into a full gallop. He lets others pet and love on him and I can at times but other times he wants to play. He got my arm in him mouth today and he didn't really bite hard.
5 AnswersHorses1 decade agoI have a 6 month old, 24 inch mini horse who has developed a limp?
I recently (in past 2 or 3 weeks) put my mini horse in a fence that has a hill side that has some steep slopes. But not so steep that he cant walk down them. I have noticed when he first comes off the hill he is walking with a limp. Nothing appears to be broken and there is nothing in his hoof but when he walks, if he isn't going far, he may drag that foot or walk flicking his foot. After he is off the hill for awhile he walks normally. Should I just stop him from going up the hill and see if it clears up or just go ahead and have a vet come out and take a look at him? He didn't have this problem before I put him in that fence. I have had big horses in that area that didn't have a problem but this is my first mini.
