I need to know how reaction time is affected by the time of day, and i'm testing using a ruler-drop test. I drop a ruler and the participant has to catch it as fast as possible. I'd like some proper scientific theory behind why reaction time might vary throughout the day, (morning, lunch, afternoon, night), and possibly using connections to neurones and nerves/hormones.
