  • How long until credit report affected by collection agency?

    HI,

I recently received a mail from a debt collection agency about a debt that I owed (medical bills). The debt collector told me that this would not affect my credit score in any way since it was paid in full before the 30 days. I'm still a bit paranoid, so I actually want to just check my credit score to make sure. How long, if say, they lied and did report it, would it be until I can see this on my credit score? Also do I need to check all three credit agencies (equifax, experia, transunion)?

  • What are the reasons people are so upset over NSA spying?

Just want to know for a paper I am writing. I personally do not have a problem with it and actually thought it was already going on for a while. I don't get why people are so shocked. What can they really do with that information that large companies haven't already done?

  • How much will my surgery cost?

I will be having surgery soon and the total cost without insurance will be $60,000+. My insurance plan is with kaiser with an annual deductible of $2000 and a out of pocket maximum of $4000. The deductible and coinsurance contribute to the out of pocket maximum.

  • Health insurance question?

I am planning to have major surgery on my knee but I first have to sign up for health insurance because I cannot afford the surgery. Since this is major surgery, and I will probably have to pay the maximum out of pocket, I have been calculating my out of pocket maximum with the total cost of my monthly premium after a year. So 12xpremium + total out of pocket maximum. After I do this I look for the cheapest total cost. Am I calculating this correctly to find the cheapest plan for me to pay for the surgery? BTW all the plans cover the same things, just the deductible and out of pocket maximum are different.

  • If I need surgery, which insurance is the best?

So I currently do not have insurance and plan to get one to have an expensive surgery on my knee done. Should I sign up for a plan with an HSA? Would there be any complications with that or is it easier just to sign up for an insurance plan without an HSA. I ask this because I calculated the total out of cost maximum for the year with the total in monthly premiums after a year and the plan with the HSA would be cheaper. I was thinking that since I am going to be paying the maximum out of pocket anyways, I should look for a plan that had the cheapest total cost. so premium x 12 added to the total out of pocket cost. I am currently a student and my parents would be paying all the medical and health insurance costs. I just wnat to know if I should sign up for an HSA or if I am even qualified.

  • Where are regulatory genes located in DNA?

Are they in the untranslated region? I know they are upstream of the actual gene. Are they located in the intergenic region of DNA (between genes)?

  • Is it still a cheat meal if...?

I fit a 800 calorie ice cream into a 1500 calorie diet for one day of the week? So for example I would eat 700 calories (vegetables and proteins) and 800 calories of ice cream totaling 1500 calories for the day. Again I would only be doing this once a week. Since it is still at just 1500 is it still a cheat day?

  • P value question. Please help!?

Could someone please explain this for me?

A drug company states that their new antibiotic drug, aguilar, will produce adverse reactions in only 12% of the population. It is found that out of a sample of 10 patients who took Aquilar, 4 patients exhibited adverse reactions. The probability that 4 or more patients would experience adverse reactions is 2.4%. If the null hypothesis is that the drug company's claim is true, which of the following best represents the data?

Answer. At a 5% significant level we would reject the null hypothesis

  • Why does sin (pi+x) = -sin (x)?

I sort of understand that if you make pi/2=x then you get -1. But what if you make x=pi then you'd get 2pi which would be 0 right?

  • are all unpaired electrons free radicals?

I know that molecules such as NO2 is a free radical because of the one electron that is not bonded, but are molecules like H2O or O2 also free radicals as they have lone pairs of electrons?
