Should smoking be banned on golf courses?

I'm reaching the limits of my laptop's internal hard drive, but still have a good amount of space on my iPod. If I purchase an external hard drive and store my music there, will I:

1) be able to play my music (from the external hard drive) with iTunes, or will I need to transfer files to the laptop? I'm worried the external hard drive may read slowly and prevent this.

2) sync my entire collection directly from the external hard drive to my iPod?

My boss recently announced he was starting the hiring process to bring on a new member of our department. Problem is, I already feel underutilized and have asked repeatedly for more assignments/responsibilities in the past. The new position would either share duties with me or (more likely) be entirely responsible for things I'm already doing.

How can I ensure my boss knows I'm willing and able to take on more?

My older brother is about to turn 30 and his wife wants me to help her come up with some plans to help celebrate. He's not into a lot of the "out there" or extreme stuff (bungee jumping, paintball, etc.) but we would like it to be a memorable night/weekend for him.

I don't like using most practice balls I've come across - too light, don't fly right, etc. So, has anyone used these Callaway HX Soft Flite practice balls? They have the same hex dimple pattern as regular Callaway balls, so maybe they work better?

I know I'm supposed to drink more water throughout the day, but lately I've been drinking a lot of Crystal Light and powered green tea mix. I know it's probably worse somehow than just drinking the same amount of water, but is it at least better than not drinking anything during the day?

Long story long:

I'm getting close to buying some new irons, and will want to keep them in the best shape I can. At the same time, I'll be giving my current set of irons to my brother, and want to give them to him as clean as I can. Since I haven't really paid attention to the cleanliness of my clubs (ever), my current set could use a thorough cleaning. $50 isn't bad if I can whip my current clubs into good condition and use this system to keep my new irons sparkling, but I don't want to waste time/money on something I don't need or that won't work.

Please let me know of any great golf equipment sales you find out about for this weekend.
