I want to teach myself Calculus I so that I can enroll in Calculus II by next fall. I've found that MyMathLab is an extremely efficient learning tool. However, I'm not going to be enrolled in Calculus - I just want to learn it on my own. Can you use MyMathLab without being enrolled in a University class?

OK, so my girl went in for her yearly physical about two weeks ago and had a pregnancy test. The results came back and said she's not pregnant. But NOW she is late on her period (was supposed to start 5 days ago). Could she be pregnant?

...and I don't know what more I can do to tell her. She's really cute and its not a matter of me wanting her to wear a certain "style", but yo...she don't even wear CLEAN clothes in public!!! Doesn't even bother wearing clothes that fit!!! This is outta control and I really like this girl so I'm looking for the nicest way to say this to her. Like, I want her to meet my parents and all that cause I really like her, but I'm not trying to introduce her to my parents with her looking like a disaster like this. She looks fine with her clothes off, but the stuff she wears...great Ceasars Ghost!!!

Now I already tried to give her a suggestion right. I bought her a TON of clothes for Christmas from Macy's and Victoria Secret. Not lingerie...CLOTHES. I spent a lot of my hard earned money on those presents (actually I spent some of my savings from my deployment to Iraq on those clothes) but she doesn't wear any of them. She's pulling that "don't try to make me perfect" bs. I'm like yo, we're grown adults now...theres nothing wrong with dressing sensibly, dressing presentably, or trying to look professional when you go out in public. There's nothing shallow about that. But I don't know...

...its really starting to get to me. I'm beginning to think she doesn't have any respect for herself because of this. I don't know. What can I do? And what can I say to make her see the light?

I'd like to learn a lot more about automotives and how the brakes and engines work. I have my GI Bill so I could potentially use it to go to community college and take automotive classes. Or, I could just buy a cheap little vehicle, take it a part, and try to put it back together again.

What do you think would give me the most experience and what do you think would be best in terms of learning how vehicles work and how to fix them? I want to know how to fix them, both because it seems interesting and it it will prevent me from getting screwed over by mechanics in the future...

...who and where does this example come from? I'm not sure I got the example down exactly right, but there is an example of circular reasoning by a philosopher who said "Opium achieves its effect because there's a faculty that produces Opium"
