What is a reasonable solution to reform 'probable cause' in America?
The 4th Amendment of the United States protects all citizens against unreasonable searches and seizures. Therefore, warrants are needed for the searches and seizures to take place. However, the constitution does not say what is an unreasonable search and what is a reasonable one. Consequently, what is a valid probable cause? Does it depend on the suspect or the suspect with the suspicion of a probable cause? These loopholes leave many room for authority abuse. Practically, anyone can have a 'probable cause' to accuse anyone of a wrongdoing. So, where do we draw the line?
I would really appreciate if anyone can answer this. I have been going at it for hours and I can't really come up with a valid answer.
Please cite your sources-if any. Thank you so much. :)
