I buy green bananas and 2 days later they are brown. Forget about strawberries unless you want to eat them on your way out of the grocers door. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for storing fruit (I've heard the refrigerator ruins the flavor) and how to keep it from going bad before I can eat it. I'd prefer to shop only every 6 days.

My plate renewal is due by the end of September and my check engine light is on. So I know that I will automatically fail. A couple of months ago I had my car in the shop for unrelated repairs and the mechanic informed me that my car is a piece of junk, I would fail the emissions and repair costs would be too much for my clunker and I should look into purchasing a different vehicle. Problem is I can't afford another vehicle right now.

The mechanic said that when I fail they will give me an extension but when I looked on the emissions and DMV site it didn't seem that simple. It says some stuff about having to have at least $450 in repairs yadda yadda. I really don't want to put another penny in this car. Does anyone know any information about what happens if you go and fail and your plate renewal is due immediately?

Regular offices cost a lot and the government provided ones say they are based on income and can take weeks for enrollment (and then who knows if you'd apply anyway). I want care now that will not cause me a huge debt such as going to an er. Are there any options for people who need care now and can pay some of the bill? I live in Illinois.

I have a slight achy pain right in the center of my chest. Here are the things I have done recently different: exercise (running/weight lifting) more than normal for the past month or so, had a deep tissue massage a week ago, smoked 4 cigarettes in a row then ran a 2 miles on Sunday. Monday is when the pain came. I am a 32 yr old female and I want to work out today but I am afraid. Go to the doctor you might say-sure if I lived somewhere with free health care.
