  • Cosmetics Counter Manager?

I have an interview tomorrow for a Manager Position at a Cosmetics Counter. I'm not really sure what the job entails, other than the fact that I am still on the floor selling and helping to hire new sales people. Does anyone have any/or know anyone who has worked in this position before? What kind of work would I be expected to do?

  • do you think they will sue me?

To make a super long story short, I have a debt in collections which is 1 year past the SOL, there are at least 10 violations of credit acts that they have commited, which I have kept record of. I sent them a cease and desist letter (certified of course) and they had a "law corporation" contact me in their behalf after I sent the CD letter stating they may possibly sue me, which is a violation in itself. I never acknowledged the debt, I know for a fact the SOL is past and I never acknowledged nor made payment regarding the acct, and they have ignored my 2 requests for a debt validation (the collection agency and the law corporation). I made a complaint with the BBB and the CEO of the collection agency stated that he has passed the account over to his lawyer. Then, a few weeks ago, the collection account deleted itself from my credit report. Is this the first step in getting ready to sue me, or why did this happen suddenly?? I know they wouldn't win if they sued, I have kept excellent documentation of all of this. But do u think he is really going to sue and/or did I finally get rid of this headache when it was deleted?

  • Will I be able to receive unemployment?

This is for the state of California. I don't know much about unemployment, but a friend of mine suggested i should apply. I voluntarily left my job about 4 months ago because I was moving away. I ended up moving back to the area about a month ago. I am currently frantic looking for work and I am not having a lot of success due to the way the economy is. I had some savings built up, but I have blown through that the past few months with my living expenses. I am plum out of $ and have no job right now. If I filed for Unemployment, would I receive it?

  • Job Interview in Apartment Unit?? Wierd. ?

I received a phone call today about a resume that I had submitted via Craigslist. It was for an Admin Assistant job We set up a time for an interview for tomorrow morning. I looked up the company online and I was unable to find anything about them. Then, I looked up the address she gave me and it is actually located inside of a high end gated apartment complex in a very expensive place to live. I know I didn't write it down wrong because she told me that she would let the security guard know that I was coming.

I'm almost certain this is one of those scams where they try and get you to pay money, etc. What reputable company would actually hold interviews in an apartment unit? Has anyone had any experience with anything like this before?

I'm not going to go, I'm just curious.

  • Collectors, Cease and Desist, Past SOL?? What Next?

I have an old debt that I stopped paying on nearly 5 years ago. I was a full time college student and didnt realize the impact my poor payment habits would have on my life. Lesson learned the hard way.

I live in CA and the SOL here is 4 years. My parents, mother, father, and sister in law all started recieving EXTREMELY harrassing phone calls from a junk debt collection agency a few months ago attempting to collect on this old debt. I never personally recieved a phone call from them nor did I ever make any acknowledgement of the debt as to re-age it. I sent them a cease and desist letter and stated all of the Violations which they had violated and requesting they provide me with a Validation of Debt, which of course they never did. Since it has been over 4 years (the SOL), I know they are not supposed to be calling or trying to collect on the debt anymore. They left everyone alone for about a month, then this week I recieved a letter in the mail from a "Law Corporation" (the way the envelope was addressed was a COMPLETE joke and the letter was worded like it had been written by a kindergartener) stating that I need to pay the junk debt collection agency or I could be sued. It is apparent to me that not only have they violated the CD letter I sent them, but I believe they re-aged the debt to try and still collect on it. It is also still being reported on my credit report. It has been a total nightmare for me dealing with these people. I am considering sending them another letter and also sending the 'law corporation" a letter. What should I do??

  • Same debt appears twice?

I am having a serious issue with a Collection Agency. First off, the Statute of Limitations expired over a year ago. Second off, they have 2 accounts open for the SAME debt, which shows up on my credit report twice. Its from an old credit card from years ago, I certaintly don't owe them twice for this old acct. They opened them up with 2 different account numbers and varied the amount slightly to make it seem like they are 2 seperate accounts. Third off, my family and I are continuing to recieve threatening phone calls from these people. They are telling my mother in law that they are going to have her arrested for hiding me from them and that they know where she lives and works, etc. I filed a dispute with experian bcuz the acct appears twice, and the investigation resolved stating it was a vaild acct and would remain on my credit report. What are my options here? Since the SOL has passed, they are no longer allowed to collect on this debt correct? None the less try and collect twice for the same debt!!!

  • Crying. Hair color came out to dark!!! Can it be saved?

I returned from the salon a few hours ago in tears. I have naturally dark brown hair, but had platinum blonde highlights all through ought to the point that you couldn't see any brown anymore (Imagine Carmen Electra) . I went today to have it dyed just one single color (rather than higlighting it) somewhat of a medium ashy champagny blonde. I even showed the stylist a picture of the EXACT haircolor I wanted. My hair turned out DARK DARK brownish/red and my blonde highlights are still showing through. This wasn't a cheap salon i went to , i expected them to get it right especially if i had a picture. I am going to go back in and have them fix it, it looks HORRENDOUS!!

My question is, now that my hair is so dark and reddish, will i be able to get the color that i wanted? Or did the stylist ruin it for me by doing it too dark??

  • Male cat biting female kitten 8 weeks?

My 3 year old male persian (not fixed) keeps biting the neck of my 8 week old kitten (not fixed either), he then attempts to mount himself on top of her. She doesn't seem bothered by this at all. I am not sure if he is trying to establish dominance or if he is attempting to mate with her.I have made an appt for the Persian to be fixed next week to avoid any babies in the future, just curious what he is doing to her.
