  • What do you think of the name Savina?

I'm not due for another 3 months so we have time to keep hunting around. The other girl names I'm playing with are: Sefina, Sarina, or Savita. I kind of like Savina, because it's a little different but not crazy. What do you think?

  • My husband is planning to travel before I deliver; am I being unreasonable?

I'm not due until the very tail end of October; it's my first pregnancy. However, my husband is making arrangements to travel during the 1st and 3rd week of October, to Florida and California respectively, one week each. This makes me extremely nervous because I feel like the baby could come 2-3 weeks early. I'm scared to death that I'm going to end up delivering this baby by myself. I don't have any family or friends near by, because we just moved. He doesn't understand and thinks I'm stressing about this un-necessarily. He says he'll just fly back right away. These trips are completely optional, but would have some career benefit for him. I want him to at least not do the California trip. What do you think? It's making me cry.

  • Help with english spelling of an Asian name? Yuuki.?

It's not my baby, not my choice, but a mom is asking me for an opinion on spelling. His name is going to be pronounced "YOU-uki" and parents are wondering how to spell it. Currently, they are thinking Yuuki, but I'm thinking he might get too much teasing. Any other ideas for spelling? What do you think of Yu'uki or Yoouki?

  • Breastfeeding experts: what can cause failure of lactogenesis I (not II)?

I have a 3rd time mom, who did not successfully breastfeed her other 2 kids despite solid attempts. This is my first time meeting her. Baby is 2 days old, and latches perfectly and sucks effectively. Although he seems content after 30 min, he has not been urinating or stooling for 1 day now. Mom is pumping, with no breastmilk. I have worked on hand expression with her, and nothing comes out. Not even 1 drop. I am checking her thyroid levels, but she has faithfully taken her medication. No history of breast surgeries. What am I missing?

  • How am I in the wrong here?!? My husband's a medical professional...?

and he told me this morning that his co-worker (a physician) came to work without her bra on. She was laughing about it and saying she "gets really horny when she's ovulating." Every time she ovulates, she calls her ex-BF and does stuff like this. BTW, she's married and has 2 kids with her current husband.

I told him (calmly) this was inappropriate behavior, and highly unprofessional. And that she was using her "ovulating" as an excuse. He then told me he didn't think it was an excuse, just hormones. Then he said, "There are things you and I will never agree on." He swears he didn't notice she had no bra on.

WTF? How is this not an excuse to misbehave? Am I blowing this out of proportion? I'm not expecting him to say or do anything, but I don't think he should think this behavior is normal or okay.

  • How do I ask my Boss to become a mentor to me?

I've just started in a new job for 1 month. My boss is also relatively new to the job, but he has years of experience as an administrator, whereas I have none. I'd like to become an administrator. How do I word this to him? Can I ask by email? phone? Or is face-to-face better? I don't see him every day - maybe once a week.

  • Anyone have any tips on getting their 1.5 year old child to accept toothpaste and toothbrushing?

She'll do the toothbrushing part, but not if there is toothpaste on it. Tried all the different flavors out there, with no success. Help!

  • I'm going on a cruise, and trying to save a little money. It stops at Cozumel, Mexico, and Belize City.?

Is there plenty to do without buying a cruise excursion? Or is it worth th money to pay for excursions? If I could only pick one of those places to do an excursion, which one would you recommend - Belize or Cozumel?

  • I just found out the moving company I'm about to use is on a "moving company blacklist." Should I...

still use it? It's a company where I box everything up, and then they come load it, transport, and unload it. I had checked them out with the BBB, and thought it was okay (sounded like a handful of disgruntled customers). So I turned in my deposit. Today, I saw a volunteer-run website that has posted this company ("We Haul Moving") on its blacklist. What should I do? What would you do? Does anyone out there have experience with this company?
