  • Should I quit my major?

I'm a junior in an athletic training undergraduate program. It's only just the third week of school, but I'm starting to rethink my career choice. I seriously dread going to classes, and not sure if my heart is really into athletic training anymore.

Part of me just tells myself to suck it up, and just finish my degree out, even though I'll hate it. But then the other part of me tells me to move onto something that I like.

I'm really interested in now becoming a surgical technologist. It really makes me question if I should just get my 4 year degree or change it up, and only get an associate's degree. In a way I just want to leave my 4 year university, and get the associates degree. But I'm also feeling like I'm letting someone down about not getting a bachelor's degree.

So many people back home expect me to get a 4 year degree, and I did as well. But now it feels like everything has done a 180 degree turn!!

I can't decide what to do! My program right now is very small, and I can't really talk to my profs or advisor, because once they know you're even THINKING about switching majors, you have a big target on your back.

  • Knee surgery, when does infection resolve??

I had knee surgery 3 weeks ago, and have been battling an infection for the past two. I originally went and saw my physican assistant because of some drainage. Didn't want to prescribe anything b/c of all of my allergies. Went to my family doc, and she prescribed a Z-Pack (no help).

My surgeon wanted me to get rechecked, so I did and the rash/discoloration/heat/pain I'd been having has spread pretty decently. Because of that, I was prescibed Levaquin (sp?), and still I haven't noticed much improvement (been on the levaquin for 6 days now). My white count was also elevated (obviously, infection).

Anyways, whats the deal with this infection? My doc has it listed as cellulitis for now, and has mentioned it being staph. If these drugs aren't doing the trick, what am I heading for?? She mentioned earlier about IV meds??

Thanks so much for your help in advance to anyone that can shed some light on this!!
