  • How to stop users from installing new programs in Windows 7 Home Premium?

How can I stop a user from installing any new programs or accidentally downloading any malicious malware. I made a standard account with parental controls but that still doesn't stop them from installing or downloading any malicious malware. I still want them to be able to use what programs are on the computer currently.

  • Lacie External USB Drive 1TB?

I have a Lacie External USB drive 1TB it has two 500gb hard drives in it. Is there any way I can get the data off the hard drives? The power supply died on the Lacie (this is the second time). Just bought an external enclosure but hard drive does not show on computer when plugged in. When I look at it when I right click my computer > manage > storage > disk management it shows up as unallocated. I have a bunch of important data on it. Any ideas on how to get data from the drives?

  • Logitech Harmony Remote 900 or 1100, which one should I buy?

My harmony remote 880 just broke and am looking to get a new remote either the 900 or 1100. The 1100 is about $50 more than the 900. I do not require RF. So I would just be using IR for either one. The 880 worked fine for me, it did all I needed a remote to do. And I do want to stick with buying a Logitech remote. Just trying to get some opinions on either the 900 or 1100 and the $50 difference isn't a big deal.

  • Unable to burn DVD's and CD's?

I just purchased a new DVD burner (SONY) SATA drive, it will not burn any DVDs or CDs. I purchased another DVD burner (NEC) SATA drive it did the same thing it wouldn't burn anything so I returned it thinking it was bad and got the SONY. I currently have an IDE DVD burner, it works fine, except the tray just doesn't open all the time. I took out the IDE DVD burner thinking it was causing some sort of conflict but it wasn't. The new SONY DVD burner reads discs fine, can't figure out why it wont burn?

  • Saltwater Tank Setup?

My friend is moving and has offered me his 90 gal saltwater tank system, with some very nice expensive fish for an excellent price. He will be bringing it over in two days (the day before he moves). He says when he brings it over we will just add tap water and salt and put fish back in tank??? I have done a little research and everything I read recommends not to use tap water and to use Reverse Osmosis water but I have no time to get 90 gals of Reverse Osmosis water let alone where to buy it. Will the fish die? Any recommendations?

  • Is there a program to create movie credits for slide show DVD I am making?

I am making a slide show on DVD (I am using DVD Movie Factory) and I would like to add scrolling credits at the end of the slide show. DVD Movie Factory doesn't have that option, so I need a separate program to make the credits. I have tried Videotagger but the free version leaves a watermark in the middle. I would like the credits to be in avi or mpg format. Any ideas?

  • Is it legal to stop payment on a check for work done on my auto but they repaired something that wasn't broke?

I brought my car to an auto repair place they told me the rack and pinion steering needed replaced for about $500.00. I decided to get a second opinion, I then went to the chrysler dealership to see what they would find, they found something different which cost $700.00 so I decided to get it fixed there because I trusted them to know what they were doing. Well after they fixed what they thought was the problem, they told me, the steering is still not right and we now need to fix the rack and pinion steering which would be about $800.00 more. I told them to stop do not touch anything else and the only way they would give me the car was to pay the $700. So I paid it with a check just to get my car back. Can I legally stop payment on that check? Please help, I do not have that much money laying around for people to take advantage of me.
