I had my first baby girl on January 13th, 2009 at 12:08 PM. She was 10 lbs 4 oz and born via c-section (she decided she wanted to turn around to breech the last week before my due date). Me and my partner are very very happy! I love being on Yahoo Answers and helping people and asking questions. :)

  • Toshiba vs. MacBook for grad school?

I am a senior in college getting ready to go to grad school. I am very active on my laptop creating flyers, writing papers, and researching. My current HP is a dinosaur and while it gets the job done, it is slow and getting a little unreliable. I don't think I want to continue with HP. I want only a few things from a laptop: reliabilty (little to no viruses), portable to carry (not a heavy brick), and memory. My price range isn't an issue, I just want something I can use for the next few years with minimal issues. I've heard Toshiba's and Mac's are good, and also Asus (which I have no experience with). Any suggestions, I can use any platform so Windows 8, OS, it's all good to me.

  • Hard time losing baby weight 2 years later?

I had my baby girl in January 2009. I was pre pregnancy about 150 5'4". I was in good shape and athlete (I've always been a little thick and more muscular because I played so many different sports). Before I got pregnant I never ate extremely healthy which is probably making it a lot harder for me to change my diet now. I gained almost 70 pounds with my daughter (who was 10lbs 4oz). I didn't gain weight anywhere except my stomach (I'm so serious I looked like I was having triplets) and still fit in my pre pregnancy pants (well up to my stomach). After she was born I breastfed for 5 months and at first the weight was falling off. But being such a big baby, she was hungry ALL the time and me having to feed her all the time made me hungry all the time. It was awful. I've been to countless gyms, had personal trainers, and still I'm stuck. I'll loose a little here and there and then I just get depressed about it and it comes back. Now she's 2 1/2 and I feel so terrible for still looking like this. People have been talking about how much weight I've gained and its really hard to deal with. Has anyone else had this problem? The issue with me is I'm so busy I usually dont have time to have good, healthy home cooked meals so I'll go all day without eating, or eat out which is never usually good. Any tips? Thank you.

  • My hair has lost "it"?

Before I had my daughter my hair was full and silky and smooth and now it seems I have to wash it every day otherwise its gets really greasy and nasty and has dandruff. I dont understand what's going on I'm on an IUD too, but I never had this before. Is there anything I can do to at least make it look like it used to? I've tried head and shoulders but I dont feel like it does anything for me. Now I'm using Garnier and still not much do I really have to switch to some expensive brand? Should I change my diet? Help! Thank you.

  • Acne body and face breakouts?

Recently I've been going through a lot of stress and I've been breaking out everywhere. Ever since I was a child I've had back acne and face acne but recently I've been getting it in embarrassing places and my chest and stomach. I dont have huge breakouts but I usually get one or two pimples big enough or red enough to make it very aggravating. I'm 22 and have a daughter I'm a full time student and I'm on birth control (Mirena). I cant exactly get rid of the stress, but I'm wondering what are some other things I can do to try and get rid of this. I currently am using Clean and Clear body wash and some exfoliating scrub in the mornings but it really hasnt been helping. I've used proactive before and it worked but it seems like such a waste of money to me. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Vertigo episodes for years after hitting head?

In 2005 when was 15 I hit my head falling in a uhaul truck. Immediately following the incident I got dizzy, vomited, had sensitivity to light, sound, and motion. It lasted for about a day or two and I was fine. Then it happened again 6 months later, then again and again and again. It happens at random with no warning, no pattern, no apparent reason. Ive had mri's, ct scans, heart tests, my tonsils and gallbladder removed and take birth control and still no hope. It seems to happen less often now that I'm older with a family but I'm so tired of not knowing Im just wondering if any one else has had this and has some suggestions? It seems doctors have just given up on me.

  • Planning a Wedding on my Own?

My fiance and I are getting married in August of this year. We've been together nearly 6 years and have a 13 month old daughter. My aunt (who helped raised me) passed away late last year and left me some inheritance money, the only problem is we have to spend most of it on bills and on college tuition & daycare. We can really only afford a 5K wedding and even that's cutting it. We've found the perfect place Duke Gardens & having the ceremony there would only cost 650, but my grandmother (who has lavish tastes) wants me to have the ceremony & reception there which would cost 2500 and she said she'd cover the costs but if she would be willing to spend that much on me, I'd prefer her to use a more cost-effective choice since we are on a strict budget. She also told me to invite many of my family members knowing that most of them wouldn't come but would instead send a gift or money. But what if they do RSVP then I get stuck with the bill. I've planned 2 funerals in the past 2 years I'm a pro at them, but this wedding thing is stressing me out already and I've just gotten engaged! I want to hire a wedding planner but I'm afraid it will be more cost that we don't need, but then I feel like a planner could actually help us cut costs. So lost...please somebody help me!

  • Hormones or something else?

I got off my period a week ago & my period came 3 days late & ended up staying for a whole 7 days (the longest period I've ever had), but it was heavy or light it was kind of medium. I'm on Loestrin 24 Generic Birth Control & I missed 2 days before last night by accident but my fiance & I decided against me taking the pill last night because we suspected I may be pregnant & we didn't want to risk anything. For the past few weeks I've been having sore breasts (which I know may be due to my period) but for the past week I've been really nauseous, with lightheadedness & I can't eat certain things because they make me nauseous & the smallest smell makes me sick. We weren't thinking pregnancy at all because I got my period, but then yesterday I started spotting & I was kind of confused & then this morning I'm having almost a normal flow period, but no discharge or blood clots its dark red but the flow is semi-light. I'm really confused & I know I should consult a doctor but I don't have one & I can't seem to find a Gyno in my area that accepts medicaid & my last Gyno retired so I may have to just go to a walk in clinic today because this nausea is really affecting me & I can't even go to work today because I'm a CNA & if I try to change a diaper or something I know I'll throw up. I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything similar to this because my body is just acting odd and I have no idea what's going on. Thank you so much.

  • So he just popped the question!!!!!!!!!?

My boyfriend & father of my daughter finally asked me to marry him after almost 6 years of dating! The ring is beautiful, & I'm so happy but now that I'm getting over the excitement, the thought of actually planning a wedding is kind of overwhelming. We know what day we want to get married August 28th our anniversary, but we don't know which year it depends on if we can afford to have it this year or next. If anyone has any suggestions on how we can have a memorable, but less expensive wedding I would appreciate it. We wouldn't have much family coming maybe 50 or so people. Thank you very much!

  • 11 month old 102.5 fever what do i do?

My 11 month almost 12 month old has a high fever. Last night her fever was 99.9 so we gave her some infant motrin the doctor said was ok. Then when she woke up she was extremely hot to touch all over her body so I took off her pants and tried to give her some water and juice and gave her some more motrin, she refused the juice and water. My father wants to put all her clothes back on to break the fever and my fiance said to give her a cold shower, my doctor is not in the office, what should I do...I don't want to over react, but I don't want to act like nothing's wrong either. Thank you.

  • No will, what can we do now?

My aunt died last month and no one can find her will. She filed everything away including tax returns from the 1970's and every other important document imaginable, but no will. She had lung cancer, emphysema, and COPD, and knew she was dying and even told us she was leaving a will, but no one's been able to find one. She helped raise me and another woman and promised to leave us many things including houses and other belongings, and now since there is no will we will get nothing and relatives that she had no relation with and even disdained will get everything. My grandmother is her only remaining sibling alive and is too tired to deal with everything right away, so we haven't gone to all the banks, or checked if there's anything in safety deposit boxes or things like that. And the other woman that she raised had been living in the house with her when she died and credit cards were stolen and thousands of dollars were charged to it and we don't know if foul play was involved with the will being stolen or not. But I was wondering what can we do now, she lived in NY and I live in NC so its hard for me to help because I'm the only one with enough time to do it. Has anyone else gone through this and what have you done? Thanks so much

  • Why do guys actually cheat? Guys please help me!?

If there isn't anything majorly wrong in the relationship, why do you guys feel the need to cheat? Even the guys that no one expected would because they were always the best man and the best relationship in a group of people. Everyone keeps telling me to leave my man to find a new man because there is someone out there who wont cheat and will love you. But I've had a fair share of relationships, I've been the other woman, and even men that you would never think would cheat, cheat. So what hope is there for me to go find another man who's just gonna end up cheating on me anyway. Shouldn't I just save the hurt of leaving a relationship, getting in a new one just to get cheated on again. Why can men never keep it in their pants? And do they really care for the girls they cheat with, or is it just something to do meanwhile they still love their girls...I wish I was a man so I could understand.

  • Took birth control really late one night...does it matter?

I am on Lo Estren 24 and I have been on it for about 4 months now. I missed my birth control one night and I woke up at 3 in the morning to take it (I take it at 9 PM every night). Then the next day I missed it by an hour and a half. The box says I can take a pill late up to an hour, but I missed an hour both times. I was just going through some things and was extremely distracted. I don't think I'm pregnant but my fiance is freaking out and keeps bugging me about it because I'm a little sick and I'm peeing a lot, but I'm just kinda shrugging it off because I don't think it means anything. Would missing the pill for that small window really affect anything? I'm due for my period in a few days so of course I'll know then, but I'm new to this whole oral contraceptive thing so I was just wondering. Thanks so much!

  • 9 month old peanut allergy?

Yesterday, my 9 month old stole my granola bar and began chewing on it and rubbing her face. Within minutes, her face got really red and swollen so I took her to the ER and got some benadryl and the swelling and redness went down by itself within an hour before the medicine. They told me it was a peanut allergy, but the granola bar also had soy in it and she has already eaten peanut butter (she's always stealing my nephews peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and when we caught her, she had already eaten some of it). So I don't understand how they automatically knew it was peanuts. They didn't test to see if it was anything else in the bar. I have a doctors appointment next month and I wanted to see if I could get a skin graph to check what her allergy really is. Will this allergy eventually go away? (We have no family history of food allergies that I know of). I didn't know I should have waited until she was 1 year old to try nuts, but now I do and I won't be trying it again. Thank you.

  • My period is two weeks late...?

My period was due on the 28th of July and I'm still waiting for it to come. I finished breastfeeding in May and got my first period June 28th. I took two pregnancy tests and both were negative. Should I call my doctor or is it too soon. I want to start the pill but I have to wait until I get my period! I got my IUD taken out July 17th, but it was non-hormonal so I don't know how it would affect my period. Thank you.

  • Would you let your infant model or act?

My daughter is 6 months old, she's mixed and has curly/kinky hair with deep blue eyes. Me and my fiance were thinking of getting her involved in modeling or acting or something along those lines. We don't want to do it for the money or to show her off, but we want to introduce her in as many things as we can. My question is would you do it to your child. I have mixed feelings about it. I feel like it would be a good experience but I don't want to push her into it or ever pressure her to do it. If she gets older and doesn't like it I won't continue. I would have loved to do something like this, but I was never as cute as she is as a baby. I just want her to learn confidence and to be proud of her beauty, but not take granted or get a big head. My grandmother ALWAYS reminded me whenever anyone would say "your granddaughter is so beautiful" pretty is as pretty does...:/ What would you do?

  • Paraguard IUD removed...will periods be irregular?

I had my first baby Jan. 13th and breastfed her until 5 months old. I had my IUD placed March 3rd and had my first period July 1st. I had some spotting when my IUD was removed for a couple days and the other day I had spotting again for a day and a half. My question is will my period resume on August 1st (my period has always been almost exactly 28 days apart since I was 9)? We've been using condoms since I've gotten my IUD removed (twice we didn't). I don't think I'm pregnant, but I don't want to deny it's a possibility. If I don't get my period in a week...would it more than likely be because of the IUD removal or pregnancy. I just wondered how long it'll take for my period to become regular again after IUD removal. Thank you!

  • Paraguard string question (birth control)?

I had the paraguard copper iud placed about 2 months ago after giving birth. Sometimes I can find the strings and sometimes I can't and I'm concerned about that, but my bf says they're always in the same spot but I can't tell. I didn't want a birth control with hormones b/c they gaveme headaches, but I also noticed that when I was on the nuvaring my sex drive increased and it us extremely low now, but I guess that could be due to being a new mom... Thanks!
