I recently signed up for Yahoo Answers. I have a passion for Nascar and like to talk to people who are knowledgeable about the sport, get opinions, share stories, etc. But yesterday I answered a question that someone posted and another person gave me some smarta** remark about my answer. I could have easily just answered the question "yes" or "no" but I enjoy elaborating a little just to inform people of interesting Nascar facts. I also enjoy reading the religion questions but there are some real characters on there. So I guess I will just sign off and stay away from this site. Thanks to the people who have been nice and friendly.

Do you think Dale Earnhardt, Jr. really enjoys auto racing or does he do it out of an obligation to the Earnhardt name/family?

My son is having his Bar Mitzah in two months. He has decided to do his Bar Mitzvah Project to collect donations (monetary and supplies) for the local animal shelter. Does anyone have any suggestions on how he can go about asking businesses/individuals to donate to this project?

My teenage daughter is taking a 2-month trip to Israel in a couple of months. Her group is going to be hiking every other day or so. I don't think it's going to be "heavy duty" hiking, but at least intermediate. I was told to get a hiking boot or shoe now and have her break them in the next couple of months. Does anyone have any suggestions for brand/type/shoe vs. boot? Thanks for any help!

My daughter is going on a two-month trip to Israel in a few months. I am an avid scrapbooker and want to make a special book for her when she returns. I have been looking at the Nikon Coolpix S8000 digital camera and am looking for some input. She needs an easy digital camera that obviously takes great pictures and video. The size of the Coolpix S8000 is impressive. We don't want to spend more than $275.00-$300.00. Any advice? Thanks!

I know that compromise was needed regarding slavery in the Declaration of Independence because representatives from South Carolina would not sign it unless the slavery issue was removed. My question is if other compromises had to be made because of the colonies demands? If you know where I can research this on-line, I would really appreciate it. I have done some "googling," but haven't quite found what I need. Thanks for any help!

My 6th grader is doing a social studies project on Civil War Reconstruction. Does anyone know where the U.S. got the money for rebuilding after the war? Obviously the war cost millions of dollars, especially in the South. When I try to google "money for civil war reconstruction" all I get are sites for the differences in opinion of the actual rebuilding and the money spent prior to the war. Can anyone help? Thanks for any help you can give!

My son (6th grade) is insistent that he wants to do his Social Study project on the Battle of Gettysburg. Does anyone have any ideas how the Battle of Gettysburg would relate to the above topic? Thanks for any help you can give!
