  • Leaving for Air Force BMT (Tips)?

I leave on Tuesday, and was wondering if there are any tips I should know. I heard about the bags (pick up, set down) but is there anything else like that I should know about. It would help me out, anything at all. Thanks.

I would like to bring something for my face (it gets oily overnight). Am I going to be able to use it or will they take it?

  • Air Force BMT Training Instructor?

I just thought of this since I leave on Tuesday. When you reply to a T.I do you have to say "sir yes sir" or "yes sir" or is it something completely different?. I would just ask my recruiter except he is on vacation this week, and he doesn't really help with questions you have anyways.

  • Tanning before going to Basic?

I leave for Air Force Basic in 1 week and everyone says I should tan so I don't burn. I live in Maine where the weather is still in the 60's. I have never been tanning, will I turn orange? Should I even do it? What do you think?

  • Air Force BMT Running?

I leave for BMT in 2 weeks, and was wondering how far do you run staring off? I am currently running 2 miles a day. But I live in Maine, and the weather here is only in the 60's. I just want to be sure I will be able to do it.

  • Air Force BMT Question?

When you go to BMT do you need to be able to do the required amount before you go? Do they test you when you get there is what I'm asking? I can do about 40 push ups in a minute. I can run a couple of miles just not very fast. And I have the hardest time with sit ups (working on them). Will I be all right when I get there? I leave in three weeks. Thanks

  • Which Bike Do You Like Better?

I am looking to get either a Honda CBR600RR or the Kawasaki ZX-6 (both '09). I know I'm going to get Kawasaki from the Kawasaki people and Honda from the Honda people, but I'm asking anyway. Why would you pick the one you pick? Thanks

  • AF Job Selection Open Electronics?

I was picked for the Open area (I selected Electronics). I leave for Basic on June 16th, and was wondering if anyone knew if that is a good time or bad time or neither for job selection. Just wondering if I am going to have a good choice or limited. I know it depends on scores and things, but I qualified for everything in this area. Thanks for any info.

  • Push-ups for Military Question?

I am working on my push-ups and just thought of this. How far down do you have to go? And when you are tested on this do your hands have to be a certain width or can it be where you are comfortable at?

  • Military Workout - Leave June 15th?

I have been working out regularly. I have 10 weeks left, and wanted to know the best way to improve my push-ups, sit-ups. What is a good routine I could do at home. I can't go to the gym anymore (this is why I ask). I want to maximize. Right now I have more trouble with the push-ups than anything else. I can do about 25 in a minute, and I know I need to get to 50.

  • Motivation Exercising/Work Out?

I just joined the Air Force and learned about two weeks ago, I ship out on June 15th. Ever since then I have seem to have lost my motivation to work out. I don't know why? Before I knew my ship date, I was in he gym every day. Noe that I have learned my date I have only been there twice. I am excited to go, so its not that I am dreading it or anything. How can I get myself motivated again, I don't know why I'm not?

  • Air Force Electronic Jobs?

I was wondering which AF Electronic jobs are good (in opinions). I am going in under the open electronic area. Are there any that are good paying on the outside? Thanks for the input.

  • Air Force DEP Question?

I am in the DEP and found out a couple days ago that I was picked for the Open Aptitude, and ship out on June 15th. I have been thinking, because all the jobs I picked were aircrew (because I want to fly and travel) that I don't know now if I want the Open. So I am thinking of going to school and doing ROTC. But I know if you get out of the DEP then recruiters usually do not work with you again. And I was wondering if I got out would I still be able to do ROTC for the same branch?

  • Air Force Enlisted - Officer?

I am in the process of enlisting, but my family wants me to go to school before I go in to the Air Force. I was wondering if I enlisted could I become an officer later? Could I use a degree I get while enlisted and go to Officer training school? Or is there any other way? Or should I just do it now? I really want to leave where I live, so I don't really want to go to school right now (not here at least). What would you do?

  • Air Force - Open Electronics Area?

I found out today I was picked for the Open Electronics area. I didn't think I wouild be since I know a few people who scored in the forties and still got the jobs they wanted (and my ASVAB scores were AFQT:75 - M:78 - A:69 - G:81 and E:71). Any way I just wanted to know how this worked out for other people. I was told I leave June 15th. Which kind of sucks because its going to be hot, and I heard that is the worst time for job selection, because the new year for them starts in October so all that is left by summer are the crappy jobs. I qualified for all the jobs I picked (even picked 8 instead of just 5).
