Is Nord Stage 2 HA88 a suitable substitute for an upright piano?
This keyboard is one of the choices ( others are Motif XF8 and ES 100).
This keyboard has an accurate modelling of string resonance that the other two don't have but I haven't tried playing it personally.
This will be used in our church. We sing both hymnals and CCM.
1 AnswerOther - Music5 years agoIs connecting two piezo pickups in parallel then feeding into a preamp a good idea?
I am also considering putting a blend pot before the preamp stage to control the sound, but I'm also considering putting seperate preamps for each pickup and a blend pot after, then both of them into a summing amplifier
Another concern is I am planning using this to record my violin, and the reason why I want use two pickups because one will go to the bridge, and another one near the left soundhole.
I wanted a insert a blend pot in hopes that when I overdub record tracks, I get to avoid phasing problems by changing the frequency response in each take.
I will be using two different kinds of piezo pickups, one made for violin, and another designed for all-around use for musical instruments.
1 AnswerEngineering6 years agoIs this preamp are worth spending for?
http://www.muzique.com/tech/miniboo1.htm
DIY project btw
I will be using them with a cheap piezo pickup for my violin. I want the least RF interference and 60 HZ hum
(-50db or less, but this is a 2 stage transistor circuit we're talking about, class B (w/ JFET) + class A (with NPN), I don't if that is possible). I have hard times with opamps since most of them are not available in my area.
I will be using 2N5457 for the JFET's and 2N5088 and will follow the given mods for rf interference and 60hz hum (but these are all simple filters).
Any mods for less noise and advise on grounding techniques are welcome! Thank you so much!!!
1 AnswerOther - Electronics7 years agoWill this 2-stage preamp circuit work properly?
transistors: 2N5457
usage: piezo preamp for violin pickup
my desired flow in circuit:
IN ---> impedance matching ---> bandpass filter (72 Hz to 26.5 kHz) ---> amplify ---> high pass filter (@ 72 Hz) ---> amplify --- bandpass filter ( 60 Hz to 26.5 kHz) ---> impedance matching ---> volume control ---> OUT
I'm actually a novice when it comes to electronics.
All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you for taking time in answering this question!

1 AnswerEngineering8 years agoHelp with this problem in calculus (minima and maxima problems)?
The problem goes this way:
A box with a square base has a volume of 4,000 cm³. Find the minimum dimensions of the box.
3 AnswersMathematics8 years agoWhat would be a better choice? an electric viola or electric cello?
after learning how to make these instruments, and gathering knowledge and experience in electronics and piezo pickups, I decided that I would make either of these instruments.
My problem is that cello has a bigger size compared to viola but a greater range can be achieved, but violas can be easier to maintain since it is a lot smaller.
3 AnswersOther - Music8 years agoWhich is better? SSD vs. Hard Disk? Stability and Reliability wise?
My hard disk is dying and I am looking forward to buying a new one or move on to ssd.
I want a storage that can last up to 3 yrs minimum. I may want to buy a new hdd but considering that hdd's are mechanical parts that are subject to destruction by vibrations (my neighbor's sound system may have increased the likelihood of my har disk to die), static, heat, and magnets; I considered buying an SSD instead (which was faster with almost none of these weaknesses but has less storage capacity, plus a very expensive dollar to GB ratio)
I don't care much about access speeds, what I care is data integrity in the longest time.
my canvassing (Philippime pesos) :
hdd
Seagate 500 GB = Php 2,500+
WD 1TB = Php 3k+ (?)
ssd
60 GB = Php 2k+
240 GB Intel= Php 5k+
-------------
And another question, can hard disks or ssd's be plug in a pc w/o raid config? Just want some extension to the file storage capacity of my pc.

anyway, this problem is when i boot up (it beeps that there is a hard disk detected), then I hear the OS in my speakers, but their is nothing in my monitor. I had to restart a couple of times in order to have my video back.
1 AnswerMonitors9 years agoPhenom II 960T vs. Athlon II 640 vs. Phenom II 555 (unlockable)?
my mobo is Asrock A780LM-s.
will be used in:
>Adobe Audition CS5
>Audacity
>hd video conversion (Xilisoft)
>video to audio conversion
>MULTITASKING
>some light games ( you don't need to ask about the GPU side)
budget's not a problem
5 AnswersDesktops9 years agoAre boxed and OEM processors of same name (i.e, Phenom II 960T) of same make?
My mobo is A780LM-s (asrock).
It supports the processors with part number HD96ZTWFK4DGR which is an OEM processor.
I fear that the one with part number HD96ZTWFGRBOX (even though same name, wattage, speed) will not be supported by my mobo, thus running it at 800Mhz instead ot 3.0- 3.4 GHz
3 AnswersDesktops9 years agoWill an Athlon X4 640 be good enough for audio editing?
The recommended was Phenom or Core2Duo... with both have lots of cache ( phenom's 1-3 MB l2 cache and 6 MB l3 cache and Core2Duo with 1-4mb l2 cache).
--------
Athlon x4 640 = 512 kb x 4 l2 cache. The only Phenoms available in my area are all BE and incompatible to motherboard. I'm going up from Athlon x2 240.
I use Adobe Audition CS5.
2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoWill my Win 7 Ultimate 32-bt use all my 4gb?
My graphics card is 9500GT. I had integrated graphics disabled.
Formerly, i had 3gb and my OS uses all of it (with 1mb reserved).
I didn't have any other cards installed. BTW, my mobo is an ASRock A780LM-s.
Other chipsets in my mobo is my audio device and lan port (all built in the motherboard).
All Realtek.
1 AnswerDesktops10 years agoWhat can I do with my problem with my PCI-e 2.0 x 16 slot?
I have a 9500GT on my A780LM-s mobo. I have that pci-e x16 slot where I connected it. I don't know why it just uses x2, sometimes, x8. I want it to use the full x16.
Other slots in my motherboard is a PCI-e x1 and two pci slots.
1 AnswerDesktops10 years agoWhat cpus would a motherboard with RS760G chipset support?
I'm looking forward to upgrade to a Phenom II X6 1075T this December.
My mobo is ASRock A780LM-s. The site says that my mobo supports it. However, my mobo's chipsets are SB760G (morthbridge) + SB710 (southbridge)...
Most reviews for this CPU uses the 8-series chipsets. I fear that it will not boot properly after that upgrade if it will not be supported.
Any helpful answer is gratefully recieved. Thank you!
1 AnswerDesktops10 years agoCan my motherboard support the Phenom II X4 955?
my motherboard is Asrock A780LM-s.
In this site ( http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASRock/A780LM-S.html ), it says that it will support if you upgraded its BIOS to p 1.50 (which is I don't know if its true and where to dl that BIOS).
In the official site, this processor isn't included. I don't know if the site tells me correct fact or fallacy. I only want to have the farthest upgrade I can have.
Please help me!
-------------
note:
please don't tell me to use "hacking" and "modding" cause that's the most effective way of being cost effective in the cyber world and businessmen doesn't want that so they would profit.
What I want is TO BE SAFE that's all. THANK YOU.
2 AnswersDesktops10 years agoHow many passes does it take before Win7's disk defrag finishes?
Also, how long is the time required?
I have a 500 GB 7200 rpm Seagate Barracuda HDD.
I hate the third party software disk defrag cause I experienced some anomalies with Deep Freeze 7 (especially, Tune Up 2011). The partition I'm defragmenting is the system drive [ drive C] and I'm expecting restart reminder anytime until it finishes.

This injector for Garena has once crashed. It showed information about the errors in the C++ blablabla (may be, the Visual C++ Redistributable). I restarted the application but after I started a Warcraft game, I got a bsod unexpecedly. Now, I decided to try playing without this injector.

I've been using this with GUMH v. 13 for 1.26a patch (DotA) because, the maphack in the Garena Master doesn't work
