  • My new Seagate 1TB drive isn't recognized by windows but is by BIOS?

    I just installed a new 1TB drive and my BIOS sees it, even the bootable flash drive I made for windows sees it ok, and would let me install the OS if I so wished. Once I installed Windows 8 on my SSD and booted into it, however, the drive is not showing up. I'm throwing this up while I reboot and try to format it from the windows boot media but any suggestions would be great in case that does not work.

  • Help picking out a guitar, and general questions?

    I have been playing guitar off and on for about the last 6 years and still consider myself an amateur. I now have free time again in order to practice and was thinking about picking up a new guitar. Last year, I bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio and love it, however I've notice a bit of an issue. When I am fretting I feel as though the neck is too wide to play without raising the guitar a consider amount and I had a couple of questions.

    1. Do I need to just get used to it and do finger exercises or does this guitar really have a thick neck

    2. Where would I find out how to properly tune the guitar, string height, neck tightening and the like. I like to play mostly Alt rock and Heavily distorted guitar (Coheed and Cambria)

    3. What is the best combination of strings to use as far as thickness goes if I am often downtuning a 1/2 step or so?

    These are all things I never quite got the hang of and I feel I am missing out. First and foremost I want to make sure I have the right guitar. I am open to suggestions however I had my eye on the Gibson SG. Thank you in advance.

  • sr.peek in visual basic not working?

    This is the code I have so far

    Public Class Form1

    Private Sub Button1_Click(...) Handles Button1.Click

    Dim srGrade As IO.StreamReader = IO.File.OpenText("grades.txt")

    Dim counter As Double

    Do While srGrade.Peek <> -1

    counter += 1

    ListBox1.Items.Add(counter)

    Loop

    srGrade.Close()

    End Sub

    End Class

    im just testing the counter to make sure its comming up with the right number and this is only a tiny piece of my program. When I run the program it freezes and stops responding and the listbox slide bar becomes very small as if it is never reaching the end of my document. I know i can't attach the doc but trust me its only 20 items long starting on the very first line with only one item per line. What am i doing wrong that i can not get it to stop ?

  • Can I use this power supply?

    I have never had to replace the power supply in a computer i did not build myself and now im trying to fix my parents computer with a new GC which requires a 300w PSU. I have a 450W PSU because it was the lowest we had at work and the thing is huge. It looks like it will house in the computer fine but the fan on it is pointing toward the side of the case. I hate to admit its a dell so not only is the PSU like frikin lodged in the case in the first place, but i have to move like everything off the board to situate this new PSU and the fan on the old one points out the back of the machine. I don't want to dissasemble my board until i know if its worth it. Is this ok or will i end up heating up my computer ? Thanx

  • Dual Boot Help Please?

    I am planning on using virtual pc to dual boot windows 7 and vista business 64bit. Windows 7 is installed already and I want to add vista as the virtual machine. My question is... when it asks me to allocate RAM to different virtual machines, will that mean that that RAM can only be accessed by that OS because that seems kind of ridiculous if i am not running the other OS with one on it should be able to use all of my ram? Also let me know if there is an easier/more efficient way to dual boot OS's. Thanks In Advance

  • Is there a way to pull out a specific variable from a listbox in visual basic?

    Also if it is possible please also let me know if there is a way to treat each instance of that variable as separate for use in a formula? Basically i want to be able to have the variable change on each entry and then add it up for a running total.

  • listbox help with Visual Basic?

    I have this code currently

    Public Class Form1

    Dim commission As String

    Private Sub Button1_Click(...) Handles Button1.Click

    Dim str1, str2, item As String

    Dim price As Double

    str1 = ":"

    item = TextBox1.Text

    price = TextBox2.Text

    ListBox1.Items.Clear()

    ListBox1.Items.Add(item & str1 & price)

    End Sub

    End Class

    I would like to make it so that every time i click my button i get a new entry in the listbox without deleting the other one(s). What do i do to accomplish this. I was told it may have something to do with class variable but im not sure how to accomplish this either.

  • What is the black mystery port on the rock band drums for?

    Has this been announced or does anyone know why the black audio jack is on the rock band 2 drums for xbox? I have been wondering this since they first came out and so far I have only found 2 articles on the wii set that say its been unannounced. Originally I had hoped for a headphone jack so i could listen the music on ear buds instead of the crazy rig i have set up with my tv right now but no such luck. Thanks a heap Harmonix!!

  • Where can i find some accurate benchmark tests for these processors?

    I was just wondering if anyone has come across some good benchmark tests comparing the AMD Phenom II (any of them) with the Core 2 from Intel. I really don't need core i7 benchmarks because that is like oranges and apples. I'm trying to get a feel for it it will be a good competitor in the mid level bracket.

How do I vote for myself in these questions. And no, I will not vote for myself if someone else has best answer i vote for them but normally i dont even answer a question i dont feel i know :-D

  • You know we cant answer anyone right now right?

    Just so everyone knows yahoo is being ridiculous right now and you can not post an answer just questions so i would not ask any right now as you will all be bumped way far down the list and most likely it wont get answered for some time if at all so just try later and make sure the answers are working again.
