  • Did my dog re-tear his ACL?

So obviously no one can diagnose over the internet and the best course of action is to go to the vet, but I have no money and I'm losing my mind over this.

My dog tore his ACL in September and had the lateral suture. His recovery was going very well, and at the 15 week mark, he was no longer limping and I figured it would be alright to take him to the park. (They said he'd be fine at 12 weeks.) He's and older dog, so when he goes to the park, he doesn't go tearing across the field or get into crazy play stances with other dogs; he mostly just trots around at an intermediate pace and sniffs stuff. So anyway, he was just jogging around and suddenly he started limping again badly. I immediately took him home, and after a day or two, he began weight bearing on the leg and taking normal steps again. This was 10 days ago and it's obvious there's still some pain there, but he's 80% better than he was when this happened, and I'd say 90% better than with the initial tear. It's encouraging that he's walking on it, but I have no idea what's going on or how much pain he's in, and I can't find jack sh*t on Google about re-tears or re-injuries of the same leg. I read though that it could be a meniscus tear, which apparently isn't as serious, but I'm terrified the sutures failed and I'll have to put him through all that again. Any ideas on what could be going on?

  • What does the Doctor say after Rose says "I love you"?

I just watched Doomsday and I was wondering what exactly the Doctor says in response to Rose telling him she loves him. It sounds to me like he says, "Quite alright to," as in, "It's quite alright to love me." But everywhere I see it written, the line is quoted as "quite right too," but that doesn't make any sense to me.

"Too" means also or in excess, so the only way I can figure that line making sense is if he's trying to say, "You do love me, and you do it correctly," and THAT doesn't make sense to me.

So what the heck does he say? And if "quite right too" is the actual quote, what the heck is he supposed to mean by it?

Yes, I'm obsessed. Leave me alone. :P

  • TurboTax... account says I filed, email does not?

OK I know I really should take this question to Turbo Tax's customer service, but it's late and I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on the issue before I have to email them.

So I used the federal free edition to do my taxes and my brother's. (We each just do the 1040EZ plus the state; taxes aren't a huge deal for us). When I did mine, I e-filed and a few minutes later I got the confirmation email. Everything worked just fine.

But when I did his, it was all like, "Success! You filed! You're done!", so I went to check if we got a confirmation email for him. Nope. A few hours went by, still nothing, so I logged back into his TurboTax account, and it said the return was filed. It's now been a week, and we got an email from TurboTax today saying he hasn't filed yet. So I logged back into the account figuring I just had to hit a couple of buttons and file, but it's telling me he has filed.

So...the TurboTax account says he's filed, but the emails I'm getting (or better yet, not getting) are saying he hasn't. Anyone know what the deal is?

    Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

  • How do I change the artist in WMP 12?

I'm changing around my music organization and I have a bunch of songs by different artists, but in Windows Media Player their artist is "misc. songs". How do I change the artist of each track? On my wmp 11 it was accomplished by advanced tag editor, but for some reason they got rid of it for 12. I opened the details pane, but that only allows me to change "contributing artist".

  • My guppies' chests keep exploding like "Alien". It's pretty gruesome...what do I do?

I have a tank of 4 young guppies, 4 mollies, and a small albino pleco. There were a bunch more guppies that were breeding, but all the adults and males have died off, so I'm left with four young females. I keep seeing these weird things on their chests which look to me like they're their organs hanging out. They're small, grayish blobs hanging from the chest/stomach area. At least two died after I noticed this, and a third has the affliction but is still alive. It appears to be swimming just fine, but I don't know how much time it has left.

The guppies were once a sizable colony of 20+ fish, but then we added the pleco to take care of the algae. After he came in, the numbers started going down and I figured he had something to do with it.

I tried searching Google, but I couldn't find much information other than that it could be a parasite. All the similar cases I read about weren't exactly quite like this. I read about those callamus worms or whatever they're called, but I don't think that's what they have.

Does anyone here have any ideas? If it's a parasite I better do something about it quick. The guppies dying off are bad enough, and I'm afraid it might start affecting the other species too.

  • If there's so much helium left, why is there a shortage?

I work at a store where we used to sell alot of balloons. But since the big helium shortage started, we haven't had it for a few months. I've been researching the shortage, but I just can't understand it. I read an article from Forbes saying that according to the USGS, there's 300 years worth of helium left. They linked to the helim note and I checked it out. There really is that much helium left. I read about the government selling off the big stockpile and all that, but it still doesn't make any sense. There's still plenty of helium to be had. Why can't they just get more?

  • What are those Starbucks lime refreshers flavorded with?

I had a Starbucks lime refresher today and it. was. AWFUL. Idk what the hell this thing was supposed to taste like, but it certainly didn't taste like lime. It tasted some kind of garden spice like thyme or cilantro or something. So does anyone here know what that horrid flavor is?

  • Computer shut off randomly, now screen is extremely dim?

Okay, so I was using my Dell Inspiron 1545 and it just randomly shut off. It's done this before, but I've always been able to get it back on. This time however, it's pretty messed up. When I first tried getting it back on, I just tried turning it off and turning it back on a few times. I could hear the hard drive working, but the screen just wouldn't come on.

After a few tries though, I noticed the screen WAS on, but it's extremely, abnormally dim. I can see it if I shine a flash light on it, but that's pretty much the only way. One attempt to turn it back on resulted in checkdisk being run, and another attempt did startup repair. I'm not entirely sure what I was doing since I could barely see it.

I got it running though and it seems to be working okay but the screen is, like I said, extremely dim. Right now I'm copying my important files to my desktop via the network so hopefully if the hard drive ends up being shot I got everything backed up.

Any idea what the problem could be? This computer is only a few years old but it still runs really well and I'd like to fix it if possible.

  • Where is my UPS package if it didn't get here today?

So I was expecting a UPS package today since it was scheduled for delivery today, but it's 9 p.m. and it's not here yet, so I guess it's not coming today. It was put on the truck and "out for delivery today" so where is it? It's not at my house but it WAS put on a truck and it's not coming today. If they don't finish their deliveries, do they just park the truck and leave the undelivered stuff on it overnight or what?

  • Help with recording TV with a VCR?

I'm trying to figure out how to record from my cable TV onto a VHS tape. It's a basic cable TV and it has one of those boxes where you change the channel through the box and the TV always stays on channel 3, and it has a TV/AV button for when I want to use the VCR/DVD player. I know that recording has to do with changing the channel through the VCR, but my TV doesn't work like that. Is this possible?

  • Can someone under 21 go into a bar with a parent in Pennsylvania?

I wanted to go to this concert in Harrisburg, but apparently I'm not allowed into the venue because it's a bar where they don't serve food and I'm only 20. If I went, my mom would be there. I thought if you were under 21 you could go in with a parent, but the guy at this place is telling me no. I've been to this one place in Minnesota where if you're at least 18 you can go to a 21+ event with a parent. I realize that's a totally different state, but it makes sense.

  • I'm a 20 year old seeking credit card advice. Help?

I'm a 20-year-old student and I make about $4000 a year (and I live with my parents still). I currently have no credit. I'm looking into getting a credit card because I fly about 3-5 times a year, and it would be nice to put the airfare on a credit card and pay it back in increments instead of paying for it all at once. Plus, I hear it's good to build credit. :p The only thing I'm planning on using the card for is airfare or possibly an emergency if I had to. I applied for the Capital One Journey card for students and was denied (I have no idea why and it's kinda making me mad. It's a card for students after all) but I think the limit on it is only $300 which is way too low. (They didn't tell me up front when I applied and I read that somewhere else).

So, I'm just looking for a credit card that will approve me and isn't too expensive. Advice, anyone?

  • Did I break my lava lamp or something?

So, I went out to visit my boyfriend in December and he got me a lava lamp. We set it up at his house and plugged it in and it was amazing and worked perfectly. It has blue liquid and yellow wax, so the wax was a pretty bright green color. It worked so well and looked just like the picture on the box. After I flew home he mailed it to me (I couldn't take it on the plane obviously) I've had it on a bunch of times and it doesn't work or look anywhere near as good as it did the first time. Instead of bright green, the wax looks dull, solid, and yellow, and instead of making the big, blobby shapes it's supposed to, the only shape the wax takes on is a bunch of small spheres. I could understand if the lava lamp was a few years old, but how did it drastically change so much after one use?

  • If you name your own price on Priceline, how long does it take to be rejected/accepted?

I'm looking into the whole name-you-own-price thing on Priceline and I understand how it works. The thing I'm wondering though is, how long does it take to be notified whether your bid has been accepted or rejected? I've only ever gotten to the point where they want my payment info, and since I've just looked, I've never gone past that so I don't know what happens next.

I remember a few months ago I was looking and I put in say, $140 and it would be like, "too low, try again" so I'd increase it by 10 or so till it told be it accepted the bid. Last night I was checking it out and I put in $1 and it appeared to have accepted the bid, but that seems insanely low to be accepted. So like, does that mean they accepted it? I'm guessing that's not the case. I mean, do they tell you automatically after you give them your card info whether they accepted it, or does it take 24 hours or a few weeks or what?

  • If you name your own price on Priceline, when do you know your flight info?

I'm really interested in Priceline's name your own price option, but they don't explain how it works exactly. Whenever I check it out, I get to the point where they want my payment info, but since I'm just looking I don't put it in, so I don't know what happens after that. When they accept your bid and say "your flight will be between 6 am and 10 pm" etc. and you put in your payment info does that mean that you ARE getting a flight for that price, or will they tell you a few days later that they're not taking the offer and you don't get charged? And when exactly do you find out when your flight will be?

  • How to get Macy's W-2 online if no longer employed there?

Does anybody know where or how to get a W-2 form from Macy's online if you're no longer employed there? See, last year I was waiting and waiting and waiting to get it in the mail, and the people in HR just told me to sign up to get it online because I probably wasn't getting one in the mail. So I did, I got it online, then a couple days later the hard copy finally showed up in the mail.

So now it's a year later and since I signed up to get it online I don't think one is coming in the mail. Only problem is I have no idea how to get it. I don't remember my insite password, and even if I did, I don't think my insite account exists anymore. If I knew I wasn't going to be working there at this time this year I never would have done the online thing.

I probably have to just call them or go in, but everyone in the human resources office is so clueless and disorganized, it'll probably take me weeks to get a straight answer.

  • Would it be unwise to accuse the cop of wrongdoing during a traffic hearing?

Okay, so, a few days ago I got pulled over and issued a citation for apparently making a left turn from a straight-only lane. When he pulled me over I was freaking out and I believed him because hey, he's a cop, he knows what he saw, right? Now after playing the incident over in my head a few times, I realize that he pulled over the wrong person. The intersection where it happened has two left turning lanes, a straight only lane, and a right turning lane. I intended to be, and firmly believe that I was, in the right-hand left turning lane (between the leftmost and straight-only lane). When I was making the turn, there was a car to the right of mine traveling in the same direction that I was. He said that I nearly caused an accident, and I was trying to remember what car I almost hit and figured that it was the car to my right. Then I realized, there shouldn't have been any car to my right. Any cars to my right would either be going straight or going right, but there was a car to my right, going left, I'm absolutely sure of it. It was also the same color as my car. This leads me to believe that the officer pulled over the wrong person.

I'm going to a hearing to plead not guilty and explain what happened, and my mom says that if I say the cop pulled over the wrong person then they're gonna give me the fine and points etc for sure. I'm not trying to put the cop in a bad light or anything. Cops are human, they make mistakes. I just want it known that I'm not the person that was in the wrong lane.

She's probably right that I shouldn't outright say that he was wrong, but I don't know how to firmly explain my case without saying it. If I don't say it, I'm gonna sound like I'm making it up or something.

I don't know what to do, any good advice is appreciated!

  • Is following your manager to the bank a common thing?

I work at Dollar Tree, and every freaking night I have to follow my stupid manager to the bank to drop off the deposit in case they get mugged or some ****. I don't get why they can't just do it during the day time. Anyway, is making employees follow their manager to the bank something alot of companies do? I'd never heard of it before and it seemed really strange when they told me I had to do it.

  • Does K9 Advantix really repel ticks?

My dog keeps bringing ticks into the house and the Frontline we use doesn't do a damn thing until they've bitten him. I saw on a commercial for K9 Advantix that they claim it repels ticks BEFORE they bite, so I was wondering if it really works or if they're just saying that.
