Does anyone know a good keylogger scanner/detector?
I recently been keylogged and i have the exact file...now I'm very irritated that my anti-virus did not detect the keylogger before I used it (because I DID scan the file).
I have a haunch most anti-viruses don't detect keyloggers anyway. So does anybody have a good program to detect keyloggers?
10pts for the person that recommends a detector that can detect this KL in this .exe
1 AnswerScanners1 decade agoIf my laptop has vista and xp installed on separate partitions, is there any way to boot up XP inside of vista
Now I know many of you are going to point to virtual machines/virtualization software, BUT keep in mind that I NEED both OS to have their own partitions because I occasionally need to boot up XP just by itself (in non-virtual mode).
This means I can't just install XP as a virtual machine under vista because it wouldn't boot up by itself anymore, or would it?

Just wondering because whenever I read the news, it seems to be about 10 years, but is it really that short? 10 years to kill someone and you're free?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoHow do I install flash on linux (ubuntu 7.10 - 64 bit)?
I've tried both the r48 and r115 scripts here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=476924
Both works fine and I am able to watch flash videos (i.e. youtube) BUT there is a major problem... every browser running a video takes up ~35% CPU.
Meaning if I open 3 youtube videos then 100% of the CPU is used up and the computer is slow as a snail. I've tried everything including a fresh install, but the problem is very reproducible. Does anybody else have this problem? If not how did you install flash on your 64bit linux?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow does the quality of a PSU affect overclocking?
For example, maybe a cheap PSU cause the system to crash when OC.
I guess what I was wondering is will I be able to overclock higher (by decreasing vcore) if i bought a better PSU or does this not matter?
Currently have a 500w PSU athena power. It works fine by the way, when overclocking and never crashes.
6 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoShould I buy the club for my car? (to prevent car theft)?
Does it work? Do you guys think it's worth it? How hard would it be for the thief to remove it (do they have to saw it open)?
I had my car stolen last night and the cops found it this morning so realizing it is old and one of the most stolen cars, I figured I should try to prevent theft. Note that that car is old and i'm not going to spend a couple hundred on an alarm system or expensive technology.

2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoI'm trying to download fedora 8 but I don't know which one? i686, x86_64, ppc?
My laptop has an amd dual core cpu and i'm trying to get the 64bit fedora 8, but there're so many to download.
Is it i386, i686, x86_64, or ppc ?
I know it's probably not the i386 - I think that's 32 bit, but what about the other 3?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhat is a good (stable) and easy to use 64 bit linux OS?
Preferably one that runs well on an HP/Compaq laptop.
I've tried ubuntu 7.10 64bit, but it was VERY unstable. The OS locked up or crashed randomly regardless of what I was doing or the time of the crash.
4 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoWhat does adding the noapic to the boot parameter in ubuntu do?
I have a compaq laptop and ubuntu will not install/boot up if I do not have the noapic boot parameter......
However, I'm think it's causing the laptop to lockup randomly, which is VERY hard to diagnose because it occurs so randomly. It doesn't matter what I'm doing at the moment, whether it is typing a doc, watching a movie, or just surfing the net. The time doesn't matter too; I can be using the laptop anytime from 30 mins to half a day and the lock up can occur. The ubuntuforums appear to be littered with this problem and everyone is pin-pointing different causes/fixes.
I have 2GB of RAM so I doubt i'm running out of memory. So does anybody know what exactly noapic boot parameter does? If not maybe you can suggest a 64bit linux that runs more stable at the moment?

3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoIn ubuntu, is there a way around the noapic boot parameter?
I installed 64bit ubuntu on my laptop and it just randomly freezes from time to time. I think its related to the noapic, but if i remove that then the computer won't boot anymore....

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoIf mac users are so proud of macs, how come I always see windows installed on them??
I have nothing against macs, but people are always telling other people to get macs, etc, because of how great a mac is. The OS is so good and easy to learn etc.
Then next thing you know, they also installed a copy of windows on their mac (whether they really use it or not, i don't really know)
