I am having 160 GB Western digital Hard disk

i had bought it about 2 years ago

that time it was working fast

but now it has slowed down a lod

it takes about 20 minutes just to uninstall a game (of about 8 GB) from control panel

is there anything i can do to increase its processing speed

i have core 2 duo 2.4 GHz processor

4 GB of RAM

operating system is Windows XP professional SP3

should i change it

i dont think its under warrenty now

but when i installed my old softwares and drivers from xp some are not getting installed and for some softwares it gives a message that a 32Bit sw is being installed on 64os and it may not work properly

what should i do

My computer configuration are as follows:

Processor-Intel E4600 (2.4 GHz)

Motherboard-Intel 945 GCNL

RAM-2 GB (Transcend)

HDD-160 GB (Western Digital)

Graphic card-Nvidia XFX GeForce 8400 GS

Operating system- XP SP-2

My graphic card is almost 8 months old but recently I bought some high-end games like Spiderman-3, Spiderman-Web of shadows, Crysis,etc. I installed them correctly but my computer could not play them efficiently. Everything was good except for graphics, they were not fluent & consistent. They used to get stuck up at same position for about half a second and then they used to show another position. When I reduced the resolution to 800x600, it became a little bit better but still were disgusting. I can play games like Lost Planet and Half Life-2 fluently on my PC.

So please help me to determine exactly where does the problem lie…. Some experts in my locality told me that my graphic card should be able to play these games flawlessly, and that it is having manufacturing defect (I have not messed with any settings of the card). Is it true that my graphic card should play above games fluently with resolution of my 19” monitor (1400x900) with configuration of my PC. Do you think there is some defect in the card? I have its warranty. Should I get a replacement of it? If my card does not support these games then I am planning to guy a new card-Nvidia XFX GeForce 9800 GT. Tell me something about this card as well as its price in India.
