  • cussing by teen?

What would be an appropriate punishment for my 14 yr old step daughter after she called her brother a "MOTHER F%$#@&? She has been told to watch her language by her dad, but she continues to cuss and he does nothing about it. We have 2 younger children in the house and I don't want them to start this again. When she moved in she was cussing all the time, and they picked it up. I finally broke the little ones, but I don't think she should be able to use words like that and go unpunished for it. It gives the little ones the message that it is ok because she does it. Help Please!!!

  • Should I spank my children?

I am a mother of 5 children. 17,15,14,9,8. I do not typically spank my kids. I was spanked when I was young and of course didn't like it, but I knew to behave or it was coming. I have tried the "talking" and "reasoning" as discipline, but to no avail. It has produced sneaky, lying, disrespectful kids. I spanked my 2 youngest ones this morning for a behavior that has continued after talking and reasoning, and for some odd reason, spanking seemed to be way more effective than anything else I have tried. Is spanking really the way to go? Would alot of parents frustrations be easily solved with spanking and having better behaved kids? Why has society stepped away from the old ways of disciplining only to raise unruly, disrespectful kids? I see them everywhere! Kids are worse now then when I was growing up. Anyone have any input on this???

Does anybody have any advice on how to control problems with anxiety? I wake up in the morning feeling paniky, and go through the rest of the day that way with some episodes of calmness that last maybe 5 minutes. I get nervous when I have to go out somewhere that it takes me a while to leave the house. Please help!!!

  • Husband being unfair?

My husband and I have been married for 10 years. I have 1 child from a previous marriage and he has 2 daughters from his previous relationship and we have 2 kids together. Here is my question. My husband insists on letting his 14 year old do and say whatever she wants. When he tells her "no" she starts yelling at him until he backs down and changes his mind. He caught her smoking with her friends in her bedroom at 3am and just went back to bed. He "talked" to her about it, and thinks she won't do things because she knows it will disappoint him. Of course she does stuff anyway because she knows she can. Why does he let her do everythng and yells at the other kids when they misbehave. He jumps them quick, but has his head up his daughters %&$. He looks as if he doesn't have the balls to stand up to her, but he says it's because she has always been second to the other grandchildren and feels sorry for her. What can I do to make things more even in this household?

  • What do you think about 14 year old?

My stepdaughter is extremely rude and mouthy to her father. She yells at him, is sarcastic and swears. He just sits there and tries to be calm which is good, but what can he do to stop her behavior? She has always been like this. She has always fought with me, her mother sent her back to our house because of her disrespecful behavior, and now we have her. I think she needs counceling but her father won't hear of it. He thinks her behavior is her age and she will get over it. She also yells at her little brother and sister like she is in charge, and I have to get on to her for that. She tells them they better respect her or she won't show them respect. That's coming from a girl who shows her father and mother no respect!!! Help!! I'm about ready to send her to military school or something!!

  • How do you deal with a two faced co-worker?

I work with a woman who is always making snide remarks about people, talking about them behind their backs and degrating their work. I am tired of listening to her. There is no conversation unless she is talking about someone. Do I confront her about this or do I just ignore it. Should I tell the other people she does this? She acts like she is their friend when they are at work, and is terrible when they are not. Help!!! Her mouth makes for a horrible working enviornment!!!
