  • Windows Hyper Terminal and Serial Printer?

I have an erratic printer that is connected to PC via RS232 serial port. It only works if you first run Windows Hyperterminal and click on the CONNECT button. The printer then works nicely afterwards.

What bytes/data does HyperTerminal send to the printer?

I'd like the printer not to be dependent on Hyperterminal; i'd like my software to directly initialize the printer. Thanks.

  • GS tournaments questions?

i noticed that when players loses in a grand slam tourney, they go home immediately.

why they don't show up and watch the remainder of the tournament in the arena? is there a rule that prohibits them from showing up in public after losing?

also, was there anyone who faced match point(s) before the semis and went on to win RG ?

  • dog on leash the whole day. is it ok?

i have a 6 month old mutt who is very uncontrollable. she ruins our furniture and does her business anywhere in the house.

since no one takes care of her when i'm out, i place her in a leash for like the whole a day (20 hours a day). we only have quality time during the weekends.

is that OK? will it strain her neck? what about psychological effects? i really have no other options. please advise, thanks!

  • my dog's behavior, any ideas?

i have a female puppy (5 months) who has some issues:

    - she gets hyper and likes to bite things at home

    - but when we go out of the house, she gets very timid

    - she seems scared of kids and other dogs when outdoors; when the kids approach her, she shrieks like she's having a seizure, hahaha!

    - i don't know her breed, here's a pic: http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n375/jorgeph200...

any idea on how to make her more sociable? thanks!

  • fly ball rule?

during a fly ball, when can the runners start advancing?

i saw a game where there were runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs, and a fly ball went deep to right field (which was caught), they could have easily advanced, but they decided to stay put.

other times, runners start advancing when the ball is in flight. why is that?!?

  • changing gears when driving?

i'm just learning to drive, got some questions:

why dont they replace the gear stick with buttons instead? that would be more convenient for the driver.

also, if i dont change gear (always neutral) when driving, will that damage the engine?
