  • Conceiving # 2 taking forever!?

Just wondering if anyone had a harder time conceiving their second child? My first was a surprise, the first and only time his father and I didn't use a condom and there he was lol! My hubby and I have been trying to get pregnant again since September, we've tried having intercourse every day, every other day and even propping my hips up on a pillow... Nothing! I guess I thought it'd be just as easy this time around.

Any stories or suggestions would be great!

  • My oven only burns cookies?

I have a new electric oven, it's about 9 months old. Anyways, I've been able to work out how to cook everything in it so that it doesn't burn. My only issue is cookies, I know, this is THE worst time of the year to have cookie problems darn it!! Lol! Anyways, last night I made snicker doodles, the only kind of cookie my son can eat. I put them on my cooking sheets, put them on the second rack from the top and it still blackened the bottoms of the cookies and the middles were still undercooked. I cooked them at the recommended temp (400 degrees) and for the least amount of recommended time (8 minutes). Any ideas on how to avoid this? I've baked cupcakes, cakes, pizzas, meat, mac n' cheese, brownies, rolls, everything in this oven and everything does great except cookies! Maybe it's my cookie sheets? They are pretty old but they've done well with chicken nuggets, french fries, etc.

Suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated! Happy Holidays!

  • CREATIVE OR UNIQUE CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS?

I'm looking for a fun, creative, or unique Christmas tradition to start with my little family. I have a two (almost three) year old and a husband.

Right now we do the usual .. Christmas movies, decorating the tree, visit family, bake cookies, etc. I just want something a little different that we can do on Christmas Eve. My husband and I started a tradition of drawing three letters from a hat and stuffing each others stockings with gifts that start with those letters. But I'd like something that we can do close to Christmas with all three of us :)

    Any ideas or suggestions?

  • Locating a deadbeat Dad?

He doesn't see my child, by his own choice. He is court ordered to pay child support but doesn't. I've given child support every lead I could, his name, his girlfriends name, he gave his ss# in court, his previous address, his parents names and address, previous employer, Ex wife's name (has an order to pay her too through the same agency), all addresses I could find that he and his girlfriend have lived at... CS called today and said that none of the leads had come back with anything! I'm really frustrated! Has anyone found a sure fire way to locate a deadbeat? Child Support has pretty much done everything they could and I gave them his lawyers name and address but he obviously can't release any info on him. All he said is that he'd give the deadbeat a message... His lawyer conatcted me trying to get me to waive child support afew weeks ago, I said no and haven't heard anything since then.

I've tried all search engines and people searches... I don't do the pay sites though. If you've found one that actually worked for you, I may try it! Please any help would be great!

  • Can my son's absent dad change my son's last name?

To make a LONG story short...

My son's biological Dad has never wanted anything to do with him. In fact, I had to drag him through court to get a DNA test and then Child Support. Now he's never asked about my son or done anything for him. He paid 2 months of child support and then stopped.

Now, his Child Support lawyer sent me a letter last week asking me to waive child support in exchange for my ex signing away his rights. He wants me to waive the $9,000.00 in arrears as well. I called the attorney and told him that I can't afford to do that, sorry.

Now my ex technically has visitation rights, the court granted them when they ordered child support. So, because I won't agree to the deal, he is now saying that he is going to change my son's last name to his and take up his visitations. I know that I can't do much about the visitations, I'm hoping he'll agree to at least take some time to let my son get to know him before trying to take him for entire weekends.

The question I have is, can he change my son's last name without my consent? We were never married and he's never even seen him. He has my last name now and I have no idea if his dad is going to skip out again so I'd rather him not have his last name, just in case. My son is only 2 so it's not like he'll really notice the difference until he's older but I'm afraid he'll ask why his last name is the same as a man he's never known, if his dad does leave again.

Anybody been through this situation? Just need some advice

  • Did we go overboard for our Toddler's Christmas (He's 20 months)?

Ok, so last year we only got him 3 things for Christmas because he was little and he would be getting so much from family. He'll still be getting a lot from family this year but we couldn't help getting a lot more for him. I wrapped them all last night and I feel like he's going to have WAY too much lol! I already know my Dad got him a Little People's Zoo and Noah's Ark and My brother got him some sort of blow up canon... Should we have limited ourselves again this year or is he the right age to get a lot from Santa? Do you set a limit each year or do you just go with it? Do you do it different as they get older?

    Here's everything we got him:

    Gifts:

Thomas the Train Table and Chair Set

    Kids Tool Set

    2 Electronic Learning Books

    3 Board books

    A Mega Blocks Dump Truck

    2 Coloring Books

    Crayons

One of those Puzzles with the beads they can push around on wires

    Mickey Mouse Cell Phone

    Stocking:

    Personalized Ornament

    Mickey Mouse Stuffed Animal

    3 Race cars

    1 Mater toy

    Army Men

    Sponge Bob Band-Aids

    Sponge Bob Bubble Bath

Gummy Candy and Candy Canes (No Chocolate, he's allergic to milk)

  • Stocking Stuffer Ideas?

Hello! So my boyfriend and I are trying something fun and different this year for stocking stuffers. We put all the letters of the alphabet (excluding z,x,q) in a hat and we each drew 4 letters. The point is to stuff the other persons stocking with one gift that starts with each letter. I didn't realize how hard it would be to think of small enough objects so I'm asking you guys!! Lol! My letters are W, H, V, and O... Any suggestions of gifts that start with these letters? Remember these are stocking stuffers so nothing over the price of $15.00 :) Oh and no candy or anything because that will already be included in his stocking. Thanks!

    Info:

He's 26 years old, country boy, enjoys hunting, fishing, trucks, tools, etc. He's also a huge Texas Longhorns fan.

  • Filed for Child Support 1 year ago in Ohio?

I "officially" filed for Child Support on Sept. 20, 2010... We've been to court, did the paternity test, then went back to court where they made him state under oath everything from him admitting he's the father to how much he makes and where he works. That was on June 16, 2011, 3 months ago! When will I hear from the court? I've called every 2 weeks and they keep telling me that it's on the Judge's desk and he'll get to it when he can... Isn't there some kind of limit? My son's Father hasn't paid a cent, has never asked to see him, never calls, just acts like he doesn't exist... Can't ask him for any help, he'll just hang up or tell me off..

  • Still need ideas for my kitchen?

My boyfriend and my Dad are renovating my entire house. I have everything together for every room but the kitchen! Ugh! I am so frustrated because it has to be a nice kitchen, I cook and bake a lot! So I know that I want white cabinets and dark wood floors... Other than that I'm completely lost on counter top and paint colors. The theme of the kitchen will be wine/grapes and my appliances are white. Ideas/pictures/opinions please!

  • When will the court send me the results of the Paternity Test? (Ohio)?

My ex, my son and I all submitted to a court ordered paternity test on April 5th at the Child Support Office in Perry County, Ohio. Last week, I called the CS Office to see how much longer it would be before we received the results. She told me that they had received the results on April 18th (a week before) and had forwarded them to the Juvenile Court, since they were the ones to order the test. She told me that if they hadn't sent me the results by the end of last week, that I should call the court and she gave me the number and extension to contact. I've called that number every day this week with no answer and no one calling me back after I left a message. How much longer should it take? I know he's the father, that's not the issue. He won't give me a medical history for his family until I prove my son is his and I need it for my son's health problems as they haven't found any indication that he received them from my side of the family.

Has anyone had court ordered paternity testing done in Ohio? If so, how long did it take to receive the results?

  • Need opinions from honest guys... What am I doing wrong?

I'm 25 years old, I own a house, work full time and I am in college. I'm known as the "good girl" to everyone who knows me. I chose to not have sex for the past year or date anyone because I wanted to take time to figure out what I really want. Starting in November I've started dating again but it seems like every guy I meet is trying to use me, either for sex or money. I know there are some good guys out there but how can you know from the start if they're good or not? I want guys opinions because they probably know better than a woman does. How do I fish out the good from the bad? I'm sick of wasting my time on guys who aren't worth it.

  • Ohio Child Support and Custody Question?

My son was born in April 2010. His biological father chose to not be a part of his life and at this point I'm trying to get a paternity test through the Child Support Agency because he's claiming that my son isn't his. My question is, when I prove that he's the father, do I have to go to court for legal custody of my son before I can get a child support order? Or will they grant me the support because I already have physical custody of my son? I live in Ohio and so does my son's father.

  • No Judging... Why did you abandon your child/children?

To any Mothers or Fathers that have abandoned a child or children... What was your reason? I'm not talking about the people who have tried but were refused by the custodial parent, just the people who willingly walked away, either before or after the child was born... Just need some answers.

  • Would you date a deadbeat Dad?

A friend is dating a guy who abandoned his baby and treated the mother really horrible. He literally lost all of his friends because of the way he treated this girl. My friend is a good girl, good hearted and has a bright future... Why would she date someone like this? There's proof the baby is his, DNA test, so that's not it! Help me to understand...

  • How do I handle this situation without hurting my son?

Long story, I'll try to make it as short as possible..

My son who is almost 7 months was abandoned by his father, E. Two weeks ago I got a message on Facebook from someone asking if my son was E's child. I wasn't about to lie and demean my son or myself, so I told them the truth, that he is. Come to find out the person who sent the message is E's cousin. She said she found out about my son through E's ex-wife and no one in her family knew about the baby... E never told anyone. So now she has told E's sister in law and brother and they have requested me as friends on Facebook and say that my son is identical to his father when he was a baby. They are now planning on telling E's mother, who also doesn't know about my son. I have no problem with them being a part of his life, which they are saying they want to be, but I have a feeling this is going to get ugly when E finds out. How do I handle what's to come without getting my son hurt? What would you do in this situation?

  • Question about what the doctor said?

Okay so I'm 38 weeks today, I'm 80% effaced and 2cm dilated. The doctor also said that my baby is at -1, where he was at -2 last week... what does that mean? I know what effaced and dilation is just not the -1 thing. Could somebody clarify for me?
