I occasionally have dreams where I see my father, but he never speaks to me (or even looks at me as far as I can recall). Sometimes he's back like he never left, and I'm at a loss as to how he's cheated death. Other times he simply has a cameo, walking past a window, through a crowd, etc. Regardless, communication is never established. In life we were pretty close, but he didn't live with my mother and I.

Is this pathetic? It's a fully functioning seperate apartment complete with kitchen and bathroom, and I sometimes go days without really speaking to my mother. Still, I can't help but feel like a loser. I just never had the ambition to move into a separate residence. Thanks.

I spent a large portion of my adolescence under the impression that I may have been infected with AIDS. I won't get into the details, but this possibility loomed over me for roughly 7 years. I spent a lot of energy burying these thoughts, occasionally failing and pondering an imminent death. I believe this was quite a traumatic period, and may have stunted my emotional/mental development. Now, in my 30's, I suffer from a dissociative disorder known as depersonalization. Does anyone believe there is a relation?

Betrayal? Death? Unrequited love? Any cause will do, but please explain the circumstance.
