How long is it normal to have pain after a c-section?
I had a section a little over 2 weeks ago. I felt really good right after the surgery, but find now that if I wear fitted clothes the skin on my abdomen hurts and I get shooting pains in my abdomen too. This lasts for a couple of days after wearing anything that touches my scar and lower abdomen. Can I expect this to go away? Is this typical?

Are the little nursery closets for a mother's comfort, in case she chooses to use one, or are they the only places a mother is allowed to breastfeed legally?

I don't know what else the US military did/ does at our bases in Cuba. Are we getting out of Cuba altogether? Or just closing the prisons on those bases?
2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoHas anyone had success breastfeeding without doing so right after birth?
I'm getting my info from books, which all are telling me that it's easiest to get to nursing just after birth. This isn't an option for me - I won't be able to spend much time with the newborn for several hours, except for what sounds like a meet and greet.
Are there any nursing moms who started the next day without problems?
Thanks for any input.
8 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoCan you recommend a carseat for air travel?
I'm looking for an infant carseat that we can carry onto planes with us - either strapped into the airline seat, or as carry-on baggage, or checked at the gate with the wheelchairs.
I'd really appreciate any advice from your air travels with infants, what seat works, any seats that are too big, etc.
Thanks.

17 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoCan someone explain to me the news about comb jellies?
I just read an article http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20080410/sc_li...
that sort of provides the highlights to a Nature article on comb jellies, saying that they are the oldest animals on Earth. But comb jellies are predators, right? What did they eat?
Does anyone have any insight for me?
Thanks.
5 AnswersBiology1 decade agoWhat can I do with a bag of kumquats?
I bought a 2-lb bag because I'd never tried a kumquat before. The flavor is ok, but I can't take the texture.
Are there good kumquat recipes?
Thanks.

3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWhen in the pregnancy should I worry about my blood pressure?
I'm 9 weeks pregnant, and have started having vision problems. I've seen the obgyn twice, and he hasn't yet checked my blood pressure. I don't have another appointment for 3 weeks.
Should I be worried yet, or is it too early for blood pressure to be an issue? (I've always had normal blood pressure, but haven't had it checked in over a year).

2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat container plants like a LOT of moisture?
I'm looking to start my first container garden in South Korea, which has monsoon summers.
I have a covered porch, where I was thinking of putting impatiens.
I also have a patio without a roof where I'd like to put some more plants. I don't know what might work here.
I'll appreciate any advice, because I really miss my plants.
Oh, and I haven't found a nursery here to ask. Lots of flower shops, but nothing for landscaping.
Thanks.

I watched this, sort of by accident, and really can't decide if this is real. I mean, it looks real, but doesn't seem possible.
And if it is real, how does it only have 4 stars?
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoWhat's a good historical fiction that focuses on a specific city?
Sort of where the city, or region, is another character in the novel.
I enjoyed Forever, set in NYC, and am now reading London.
Have you read any historical fiction with a real sense of place, that made you feel like you knew something about the area?
Thanks.
