  • Miller 8458 Rear Hub Bearing Puller for Caravan?

I'm wondering if a generic puller of some sort can be used in place of this very specialized and hard to find tool.

Surely to God, not every mechanic owns a Miller 8458 Rear Hub Bearing Puller. Anyone out there use some other means to remove the old hub assembly?

  • Speed of a bubble rising through water?

    u = 1/9 a^2 g/nu

where a is the radius of the bubble, g is the acceleration of gravity (980 cm/s^2), and nu is the "kinematic viscosity" of water (0.011 cm^2/s).

Let's call the radius of the bubble 12 inches. Ignore the shape of the bubble. Pretend it's a sphere, which is solid and has no weight.

If you could, I'd like to know HOW to do this equation, not just see the answer. My aim is to become better at math.

To me, I see that u is the unknown, or the question I’ve asked. What is the speed of a bubble rising through water?

    Then I get confused. 1/9? 1 divided by 9? 1 9th?

    a^2 would be 12 times 2?

g would be 980cm per second squared???

I’m told that / means divide. How does that work in (980 cm/s^2)?

Is it 1 divided by 9, times 12 to the second, times 980cm divided by ???

    Please explain! Thanks!

  • Why is 25% of the worlds population without power?

I'm curious what people have to share on this topic.

Why does New York City, for example, with a population of 8 Million, use as much electricity as is used in all of Africa, whose population is 1 Billion. (Just an example)

Why have 25% of the worlds population been left out in the cold?

  • How much force is required to turn a 100 Mw generator?

Anyone work with these? I'd like to know how much force it takes to turn one. Horsepower? Newtons? I'm really not sure what form the answer would be in, but I think I can convert whatever you might have.

If you only know how much is required to turn a smaller generator, please answer anyway. Any information would be a great help.

  • Is Nova Scotia, some sort of testing ground?

Nova Scotia, Canada's Atlantic Playground. Located on the eastern shore, Nova Scotia is home to 1,000,000 People, and has a major metropolitan area, Halifax.

The people of Nova Scotia have been asking a couple of questions for a long time now, and have yet to be answered!

    1. Why does almost everyone here die of cancer? We have the highest rate in the country, and one of the highest in the world. Yet, we have no nuclear program, and no other visible reason for this.

    2. Why are we taxed at a higher rate than anyone else in the world? Canada is the highest taxed country to begin with...and Nova scotia is the highest taxed province in Canada! Why is this?

Are we some sort of testing ground? Does the government just want to know how far people can be pushed before they snap?

What other reasons can you think of for a government to segregate a small population like ours, and stomp on them?

I don't want to die of cancer, and I don't want to give the government 60 cents on the dollar!

We want ANSWERS! And, we PAY for answers! Give them to us!

  • What level of education do you think I have?

Just wondering how important education really is!

I know how to cure gangrene with a compression chamber.

I can build pretty neat machines…some of them could change the world by producing “almost” free electricity. My ideas usually start where others leave off.

My I.Q. has been rated between 137 and 148, depending on the test and the mood I’m in.

I’ve written many books, including flight manuals for an airline, and children’s books.

I’ve worked as a doorman, bar tender, painter, writer, carpenter, business owner, customs/policing, private investigator, cleaner, you name it, I’ve done it.

I’ve been stabbed twice, shot at, beat up. Lost a girl friend in a car accident, been drunk, been sober. Been hurt, did the hurting.

I’ve been rich, I’ve been poor.

I spent many years in school…now I develop their intake forms, and make them active.

How old am I? And what is my level of education?

  • Electricity Question.?

I'm trying to find out how many turns of a wire denote the electrical output of a generator. Also, to have 60Hz, I'm assuming that the field needs to be broken 60 times per second? So, a larger number of magnets passing the coil would reduce the speed needed to generate 60 Hz?

I've looked around the internet before asking this question, but I don't think I'm wording properly what it is I want to know.

I'm sure there is a formula somewhere that denotes the turns of wire for what I want. I have a pretty good understanding of electricity to begin with, for a laymen. I understand HOW to make things, like a Tesla coil, but I can't predict the resulting voltage, because I can't find the equations anywhere!

I am making a magnetic generator, (permanent magnets). But, I don't want it to be useless when I'm done, and be nothing more than a toy with outputs that have no real use!

So, haw many turns to get 120 volts? Can I use multiple coils? If so, how would I wire them together to stay at 120? Would I need to consider the 60Hz as being added together for ALL coils? Or would that stay at 60 Hz because that is the frequency of each of the coils?

As you can see, I need a little help with this. I love to read and learn new things, so if you have time to just post a link I could use, that would be great!

    Thanks!

  • Turbine power generating station?

Looking to find out how much force is required to turn a large turbine. Something that would power a whole town...maybe 20 or 30 thousand homes. Also, at what speed would the turbine have to spin?
