Hi, I live in a small suburb in the Denver area, and have three kids - ages 6, 8, and 11. We enrolled them in a local track and field program, and it's just not very good. Disorganized, meets once a week, doesn't really do much to push the kids toward anything - basically marking time till the parents show up to pick up their kids. After a full two or three once-a-week training sessions, they got thrown into their first regional track meet, and got stomped by motivated teams that meet three times a week and so forth. Lots of 8th places and aside from the 6 year old who did alright in softball throw (and is too young to care much, and just rather demoralized.

I don't see much point keeping them in without giving them tools to improve. But the coach is just not doing it, I have no experience with this. Any ideas, online resources, places to start?
