  • Today I was wondering how a star burns without oxygen. I always thought that fire required oxygen to burn.?

Any ideas on this? Maybe the process of the sun creates oxygen? But still, how could it combust without oxygen?

  • Feeling vs. Emotion Test at 10am tomorrow?

I would like for you to read this for me and tell me if it makes any sense, if you can find anything wrong about the logic or conclusions or if it is completely crazy stupid sh*t. I have spent a lot of time thinking about these issues and have tried to put it together in a way that makes sense not only to me but hopefully for others. It is a very confusing topic to discus in a logical manner, yet I believe that it is possible to do so and I am not attempting to merely play with words. This is not a trick, but something that I am interested in and want your opinion.

    Feeling vs. Emotion

Feelings are created by the 5 senses and occur in the present time, such as: the beauty felt while observing a sunrise or the pain felt when someone hits you. Emotions are created by thought thinking about the past or the future, such as: thinking about a wrongful action done to you by someone else can create anger or thinking about your math test tomorrow might create stress.

Therefore, physical pain is a feeling of your nerves telling your brain that there is a physical sensation causing discomfort in the present while psychological pain is caused from thought thinking about the past or a future event which was not desired and is an emotion.

It is easy to tell the difference between a feeling and an emotion. Ask if it is present in the absence of thought. If the answer is yes, then it is a feeling, if the answer is no, then it is an emotion.

What makes this so complex is that for example: if I am afraid that I will get hit by a bus tomorrow then my fear is an emotion and psychologically created, but if I am crossing the street and a bus is coming my direction then I may jump out of the way without thought occurring and it was the feeling that caused my action to jump, no thought is required to have instant action, yet when I think about it later I have the emotion of fear. There is no similarity between the feeling that caused me to jump and the emotion that I later recall as fear.

You will not find this in any dictionary, psychology or philosophy book, but I have spent many years understanding it. Understanding is a feeling created from insight in the present time and is not related to thought. Thought is the response of memory projected into the future or past and will create emotion.

Time is both real, such as a physical clock ticking away the seconds and psychological, such as what will happen tomorrow. Psychological time is produced from thought and is about yesterday or tomorrow and will always cause emotion, whereas real time is in the present and will produce feeling.

The test will be tomorrow at 10am.

  • How can I take iron supplements without getting sick?

I am a male, 54 years old and my red blood count (RBC 4.16) and hemoglobin (HGB 8.5) are low and my doctor asked me to take 325 mg of iron twice a day. I took 320 mg of time release ferrous sulfate without food and became nauseous and vomited 2 hours later. The next day I took 160 mg of ferrous sulfate with food and became nauseous and vomited 2 hours later. The doctor told me to take a different type of iron. I have found ferrous gluconate and ferrous fumarate on the internet. The doctor said that I would just have to try them and see if I got sick. Well, first I have to find them and buy them and then I have to see if I get sick. It seems like there would be a better way to know which one to take. Does anyone have any advice about taking iron without getting sick?

  • I am a male 53, why am I so tired?

Lately I have been so tired that I cannot get out of bed. I sleep 16-20 hours a day and can hardly move, because I am so tired. What could be causing this problem?

The doctors said that I have really bad blood clots in my legs, both arteries and veins. I have been on 10mg Coumadin/day every since and recently started receiving Tizanidine 4mg 5/day and Lyrica Cv 75 mg 3/day. This has relieved the pain tremendously and I can walk some without crutches. I am a male 53 years old. Why am I so tired?
