Hey all. I love my horse :) I'm happy to answer questions about your horse too.

  • pigmentation/sunbeds/white patches?

Before I get lectured, I know sunbeds are bad for you, very bad, and I know I am putting myself in danger, but the way I felt/feel being pale was completely awful and unless you were in my position, with MY mind you have no idea how I felt.

I have only been on 5 or 6 times at 9 minutes max. I started on 6 mins, and eventually got up to two sessions of 9 minutes. I couldn't really notice that much of a difference, but with me being so pale I assumed it would take a while to build up.

I also about 4 times drank 'tanning shots' before going on the sunbed as I had heard good things about them by everyone who used them.

Throughout the time I had been on the beds, my back was very itchy - I don't know if this is because it is not normally out in the sun/exposed etc. and it burnt very slightly the first couple of times I went on the beds, but I didn't go back on until it'd fully gone down and felt fine again.

The past three days or so I have noticed darker sections of pigment I assume? on my back, but with lighter patches all around them. It looks awful, and I've been having a look online to find anything similar but I can't. Since noticing this I have not been on the sunbed as I fear it'll get worse/go darker and the white patches will stay! I'm not sure what or why it's doing this but I cannot find an answer online..maybe this will help..

I've attached a picture and looking at it - the whiter areas are my real skin tone..I'm just wondering why the darker bits are only coming out in certain areas? Thanks

  • very painful blisters on the back of my heel?

I got some new Dr Martens and when I first put them on, they weren't hurting at all. I was quite surprised because all my others hurt so much even putting them on at first. So anyway I'd been wearing them around the house for a couple of hours to break them in a little bit and they weren't hurting at all so I decided to go out in them.. BIG mistake. They were fine for about 15 minutes once I'd got out and then they were just hurting so bad at the back of my foot/heel.. I couldn't change them or go back so I just had to bare the pain. Once I'd finally got home I realized it was actually worse than what I thought and all of the back of both feet were blistered and all cut. Now they're really really painful and there's been pus coming out of them constantly and it's very difficult to even walk! I can't put any shoes on either because it's constantly rubbing. I've had a warm bath and just left them but they're just constantly throbbing and they're all red around the outside of the popped blisters. I don't know what to do! A few friends think they're infected but I didn't think they could get infected within a nights sleep? :(

    Thanks in advance

  • WAKESTOCK festival july 2012?

This summer I'm going to Wakestock Festival. Anyone else by any chance?

The problem I've got is I'm only 17 but I plan on taking alcohol (I know I'm underage but we're teenagers and that's what we do). I've read on the site that under 18's can't drink, obviously, and that they will do bag checks before allowed entry, but surely they have to say they're doing bag checks to look like they're being as safe as possible but will they actually check bags? It's my first time at Wakestock and I'm not really sure how they do things.

Any other advice from people that have been to Wakey before would be nice too!

  • my cat has scratched my mouse?

I know it's silly that I have a cat AND mouse but I never have them in the same room but some how my cat managed to get in to the room with the mouse and has scratched my mouse. It's on her back and has bled a tiny bit and where it's scratched there is loss of fur. Will I need to take her to the vet? or will this heal all on it's own. If so, how long will it take? Is there a cream I could buy to make it heal faster?

I'm going to be so much more careful in the future.

  • Recently I have had no appetite whatsoever?

For the past week, I have eaten barely anything. I have not been hungry whatsoever and have been eating either a bowl a cereal a day, a salad sand which or a piece of toast just to get some sort of food in me.

I have basically been waking up, going to see to my horse: ride for an hour, muck out, feed, clean etc and then going home and eating a small something. Today I wasn't hungry, but I ate two pieces of seeded bread with cheese on and I am so full. I feel bloated and really tired. Usually I eat quite a lot really (more than I should) but this week I've not been hungry in the slightest and have only ate what I have to get something in me and anything I have eaten, I haven't enjoyed or felt the need to eat it.

    What's wrong with me?

  • I want to email a college that I am interested in, but unsure what to say.?

I'm interesting in an animal college, and I want to email them about how I am interested and what I would like to do there if it is possible. What do you think I should say, or how to say it? I want to sound mature and like I am willing to do anything they need me to do (as I am).

  • My horse chews his stable door and his hay nets?

My horse chews his stable door and chews his hay nets. He's had his teeth checked, so it's not his teeth. I then thought he is probably bored so I put up lick-its around his stable and a variety of different toys but he still chews up the wood and his nets! What can I do to stop him?

  • I am so clueless to which boots to put on my thoroughbred!?

He has skinny legs and is known to hurt himself and get little cuts from turnout and riding.

    At the moment I'm using..

    turnout: http://www.robinsons-uk.com/products/ProductList.a... (on all four)

and I was given these for general riding :http://www.robinsons-uk.com/products/ProductList.a... (just on the front legs)

I have also got bell boots but atm I'm only do flats. Should I still put these on him?

Are all of the things I have got going to protect him and prevent injury? Or should I buy something different? He has previously got a few cuts from riding and turnout from not wearing boots, so he does need them. If I'm using totally the wrong boots for him, please show me which to buy off this website as it is where I will be buying from: http://www.robinsons-uk.com/ Thanks.

  • worming a thoroughbred?

I recently purchased an ex race horse and was told that he was wormed two weeks earlier. (I bought him on the 03 October 2010). With it being almost three months? since I bought him I checked up on worming him and then realized I hadn't been given documents of him being wormed last (I know! I should of checked on this WAY before now). I'm now worrying incase he hadn't been wormed when I bought him. Should I worm him tomorrow, just to be on the safe side? and what should I used? He's almost four. (I know, I'm awful, I should of checked for these documents before I transported him to my yard).

  • My horse has not been turned out for a week and half due to bad weather?

My ex racehorse hasn't been turned out for a week and half because of really really bad, icy, hard fields. We have just moved to a new yard, too, just yesterday because our old yard had no good turnout. I am now very, very worried to turn him out tomorrow because I know he is going to go crazy when I put him out and I'm worried in case he hurts himself. Would should I do? He needs to be out asap and I am just putting it off because I'm worried he will injure himself. Just last week my friends horse broke his leg from galloping through the field and falling over. I don't want this to happen to my boy. Help?

  • Are laptop batteries expensive?

I think my Mini HD laptop may need a new battery. It lost all power and when I plug my charger in, it lights up but the laptop does not start up/charge/turn on. Could this be the battery? and are they expensive?

  • My laptop is plugged in but not turning on..?

Earlier this morning before I set out to college I was on my laptop and it was running fine. I accidentally forgot to switch it off and it was left all day without being plugged in and eventually it lost power. I got home and it needed charging so I plugged it in and tried switching it on and it wouldn't come on. It's got the little lights showing it's plugged in but when I switch it on it doesn't start up or do anything. I've done this so many times before now and it's come on just fine once I have plugged it in. It's not working now and now I don't know what to do? I've unplugged, took the battery out, left it plugged in for at least 2 hours now and still nothing. any help?
