Chinese gymnasts in previous World competitions?
What I can't understand about the whole Chinese gymnasts age controversy is how no one has seen them before, or if they had, they were said to be born in 1993 or 1994. How can they suddenly be 16? Surely if they'd participated in previous international world competitions, there would be sufficient evidence, right? What are Yahoo community's thoughts?

My vote is Wayne Gretzky, though maybe Nancy Green might be a far second.

Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Whistler in the fall? We (book club of 8) were thinking about early October, to try to catch some last chance golfing. Is it too early for skiing?
1 AnswerVancouver1 decade agoHow do I get rid of foul smell from our car vent?
We took a road trip a couple of weeks ago and our 93 Camry overheated. We had to buy a brand new radiator but now when I turn on the air con or even drive with the fan off but with outside air flow, the car stinks to high heaven. I've been driving around with the vents closed, with open windows but only inside circulation. Do I have to bring it in to a mechanic to get the smell out? Money's tight right now, so if there's another way, it would be much appreciated. I've read comments from others on Yahoo answers, but most seem to say to just cover it with a spray, but I'd like to actually get rid of it, esp. if it's a dead animal.

OK, Everyone:
This is a re-posting as I didn't get a clear answer from the first time. How's this for a question on PEMDAS:
-9 + 8 squared divided by (-4 + -12) x 2?
Do I assume that in solving parentheses (-4 + -12 = -16), then exponents (8x8=64), then in the multiply/division as it happens in the equation (64 divided by -16 = -4) times 2 (2x-4 = -8) and then add/sub (-9-8) to equal -17 or should I multiply first (-16 x 2 = -32) and then divide 64 by that (64 divided by -32 = -2) and then add/subtract (-9-2) to equal -11?
Thanks very much.

Thank you for your great answers for the first part of the question! In defense of my daughter's teacher, it's more likely my daughter misunderstood, but then again, one never knows with the TERC math. How's this for a personal question on PEMDAS:

-9 + 8 squared divided by (-4 + -12) x 6?
Do I assume that in solving parentheses (-4 + -12 = -16), then exponents (8x8=64), then in the multiply/division as it happens in the equation (64 divided by -16 = -4) times 6 (6x-4 = -24) and then add/sub (-9-24) to equal -33?

I thought when solving "20 divided by 5 times 2 plus 3" you'd first divide 20 by 5 (=4) and then multiply that by 2 (=8) and then add 3 to equal 11. However, my daughter said that in school, she was supposed to multiply first (5x2=10) and then divide 20 by that (=2) and then add the 3 to equal 5. There are no brackets anywhere. What do you think?
10 AnswersMathematics1 decade agois there a mathematical formula/equation for the following question?
Assume that someone has a 3 day supply of food and water for a trip across a desert which takes 5 days to cross. How many people would have to start out in order for one person to get across and for the others to get safely back to the starting point? Assume that no food or water is left over and the person who gets across the desert does not need to return.
