Okay so my teacher just announced the school play for the year and it's the Case of the mistaken identity. I want to audition for Thalia Garnett, The young put-upon governess for the Leighton girls, and a would-be novelist. She is perfect for me. But the thing is my teacher says that we need a monologue that fits the character we are going out for. I have searched and searched but still I cannot find a good, funny monologue for her. Please help me!

“Hello?” I asked. “Hello I would like to speak to a miss Crypto Brightt.” A craggy woman’s voice said from the other end of the phone. “This is she.” I answered. “I am calling on behalf of Summers Publication. We are wondering when your book would be done.” My face went red with color. I was in High school you see and had a sea of homework to do every night and hadn’t been able to write. “Yes I will have it done in about two weeks at the least.” I said. “Two weeks at the least?” The lady said chuckling. “No ma’am I want two weeks at the most.” “Two weeks at the most?!” I yelled in outrage. “I am sorry ma’am but I have a sea and a half of homework to finish an-““Well I am sorry dear but no acceptations.” The lady said and hung up. “UUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGG!” I said falling back into a leather arm chair. What was I going to do? I was near the end but had no where to end it. The book was on the coffee table the face on the cover looking at me. Crypto the Light Goddess, it read. Part of me wanted to fling it across the room. The other half just wanted to finish it and send it in. I picked it up and flipped it to the last page with writing on it. I read the last sentence figuring it would help with ideas. CRYPTO WAS STUCK; SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DEALING WITH! Just then a glow started emanating from the book. Then everything went completely black.

I woke up with to worried faces looking down at me. They definitely weren’t familiar. I scrambled to my feet and looked around. I had been sprawled on the floor of a huge marble building. The two girls who had been staring at me moments before now walked over to me. “Crypto?” The shorter one asked. She had black hair pulled back into a ponytail. “Are you okay?” “I don’t know you.” I said. “Don’t be silly,” The taller one said. She had red hair and glasses. A spray of freckles crossed the bridge of her nose. “You were walking with us to dinner when you suddenly passed out.” “What are you talking about?” I asked. “Come on Crypto.” The shorter one said playing with my hair. “I’m Electra and this is Sabrina. We have been best friends since like the beginning of time.” “I longer than you.” Sabrina pointed out. Sabrina, Electra, both names of characters in my book. This was weird. “Come on.” Electra said. “I’m starving.” Sabrina and I followed her to a long table set out side where a bunch of teens were eating and laughing. I started to look for characters in my book. Since this was pretty much the same scenario as my book. I saw Violet, goddess of myths, legends, stories, and lies, Mike god of grape juice, and the demi-god daughter of Athena, Lexi Nightt.
