  • How can I prove myself to my girlfriends parents? They think that I am "not the right one."?

Like I said, they think I am not the right one for their daughter. The problem is, that they don't even really know me. Things got off to a slightly rough start with them but they were willing to give me a chance. Things went ok for a little while bu started going down hill. We have been dating for almost a year now and all her mom ever says is that she doesn't think I am the right one. I am the first boyfriend she has ever had and the first child in the family to date -- this does not help my situation I'm sure. The problem is, our relationship is GREAT. Most of the time me and my girlfriend have a wonderful relationship, the only time we have problems is when she talks to her mom about me. This causes a problem because we are both still in college and it is hard for me to talk to her because her family gets incredibly jealous whenever we try to talk. My girlfriend doesn't agree with the criticism that her parents give me but she doesn't do anything about it. She doesn't want to "disobey" her parents or argue with them because she still lives in their house and is basically fully supported by them. I just don't know what more I can do or what I can say because despite us liking each other very much, and having a solid relationship, its always shaky because we don't have her parents full support. The only person that may be slightly on my side is her father, so if there is someone I can talk to it would be him. I would really like to have her parents full support so that we could have a good healthy relationship but showing my girlfriend that I am a good person just isn't cutting it. Any suggestions and help would be much appreciated.
