Laser Printer suggestions for home use?
Need a new printer, replacement ink will cost $100.00 for a $69 ink jet printer! All printers now have software that will not accept cheaper ink. Should I buy a Laser printer, & for occasional color use, take a CD of the file to an Office Depot or Staples for printing?

2 AnswersMental Health6 years agoLooking for PHOTO software.?
I have iPhoto and it is too easy or "rank". I was going to upgrade to "Aperture" but Apple discontinued it. Have used Adobe Elements and found it too confusing. I am age 74 not that computer literate. But have been a professional film photographer (Weddings). I now use only digital cameras. Thank you

It seems that Apple will discontinue Aperture software in favor of a combo software package of iPhoto and Aperture software. Some time early next year. Also there will be no updates to the "stand-alone" Aperture program. I have printed out the iPhoto instructions and am progressing well understanding them. I am doing pretty well, but of course the current iPhoto program lacks a lot of things I wish I had. Aperture will solve my needs, but I am in a pickle trying to decide wether to buy Aperture now and do the best I can. Or wait until the new Apple photo-editing software appears "early next year!" I have worked with Photoshop Elements and found it harder to learn than iPhoto so far. So I have kinda given up on "Elements". Even though I have no problems with Professional Photography which I have done for over 45 years, software is another thing altogether. Any "sage" advice would be greatly appreciated.
3 AnswersSpecial Education7 years agoWhich Mac Book laptop to get?
I have a Apple Mac Mini computer that I just added 16 GB of memory to: Mainly for photographic purposes as I plan to extend my knowledge and working ability with more advanced photo editing programs. I have used iPhoto to about it's limit and find that I want to remove/add items to my scenics. My queston is two fold: One: which program would you suggest for a not especially literate computer user. I had Photoshop Elements for several years and just could not get the "nact" of it. Would Apple's "Aperature" be my next step up?
Thank you!
2 AnswersMental Health7 years agoSmall, economical DVD recorder/player?
I just made my misc. DVD's "nice" by adding a paper CD Label, printing the name & contents of the disc on the label.
Much to my surprise, the added label (an Avery {inkjet} #28669) made the disc' too thick to insert into the Apple USB Super Drive and my small (exercise use) TV!.... I was able to switch the TV with our bedroom TV which has a slide out tray on which to place a disc.
Does anyone know a way around this situation other than purchasing a new DVD/CD burner/drive for the computer?
Thanks
1 AnswerSpecial Education7 years agoIs there a way to view You Tube and Apple's Aperture Program together?
I am considering purchasing Apple's (photo editing program) Aperture. But need more details on how it works and whether it would be a good fit for my photographic correction needs. I found lots of "tutorials" on 'You Tube" but can't watch video's & operate the Aperture program at the same time. Would "Spaces" allow me to have both function at the same time or do I need two computers & two monitor's which seems out of the question?
I am using a "new" Mac Mini with OSX Maverick 10.9.2. I still have my old Mac Mini but only one monitor. Could I hook up my old Mac Mini to the internet You Tube and use my new Mac mini for the program "moves"?
Thank you!
