  • Quotes about making the best out of tragedy or rising above?

or rising from ashes(Like a Phoenix)

I've been looking for some all day, but I have yet to find a quote that actually sounds good(and is short!)

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Parents: Would you allow your children to be influenced by adults with tattoos?

    APPROPRIATE tattoos, of course.

Would you mind if your child's teacher or babysitter had a tattoo?

Would you not want that person to be influencing your child if they did?

    Any thoughts would be great!

Also, please just state whether or not you also have a tattoo(s)

  • Harness or a collar for my dog?

    Based on looks?

I know that harnesses encourage pulling, but if the dog is perfectly fine either loose leash walking/heeling, what would you prefer and why?

I like collars better, but I came across a very nice harness that I like but I don't know if I really want to get it because I never put harnesses on my dogs.

    Any pros/cons would help!

    Such as:

Owners who carry their dogs everywhere

    Dress their dogs

Let their dogs drag them around

    Use flexi leads

    Etc....

    What annoys you the most?

Just a very random question out of curiosity!

  • Prong collar users: Have you actually had a prong collar come apart while in use?

Just a very random question and if so, what brand was it?

I used my dog's prong collar for the first time in a long time today because she was still wet after a bath and I didn't want her regular collar to smell like wet dog.

She has no pulling issues on walks so I didn't put a back up collar on her(It was just for a simple walk down the block, otherwise I wouldn't do this!)

I've had the same prong collar for her and my other dog(Both used, but trained at different times) for a couple of years and its never once come apart.

  • Would putting a spike collar on my pit bull mix encourage the "pits are vicious dogs" stereotype?

Very dumb question, but I can't decide!

My dog, Romeo, definitely looks more of a bully breed than a lab, but he isn't muscular like a true APBT is.

    I really like spike collars.

My two female dogs have matching pink leather spiked collars and I want a matching blue or black for him.

Its not a super tough looking collar and only has one row of dull spikes. I can't decide if I want to get him one or if it would be a bad idea due to the pit bull stereotype ....

Thoughts? As I said, this is sort of a dumb question but I need outsider's thoughts.

Whenever I sit or lay down, my head starts throbbing like crazy, but when i'm standing or moving, its not as bad(just a dull headache)

Why is this? And is it a migraine or something else?

Its in the front of my head like my temples and my forehead.

  • What do you do to save money when it comes to your dogs?

Do you go to low-cost vaccination clinics instead of the vet for vaccines?

Do you use coupons for dog food?

    etc

I'm 17 and I plan on taking one of my dogs with me to the apartment I move to for college because I don't plan on living in a dorm. And yes, my parents and I have talked about it. If it doesn't work out, she will stay with my parents, so please don't say anything about me focusing on school, it won't be hard to me to take the time to walk her for a bit even with school and a job, I can also toss a ball for her when i'm doing my homework and she has many mind-stimulating toys to keep her busy, so no worries on that.

I'm trying to figure out now so I can do what is best for her and me. She will be staying with me on some weeks, but she will also be at my parents house alot with my other two dogs. I just don't want to live on my own even though I plan on having a roommate, it would just be so much more comfortable with my dog.

My parents plan on paying for any unexpected vet bills and food every once in awhile. I just want to know, what are good ideas when it comes to saving money when it comes to my dog? Not only for college, but for early life on my own.

I will pay for vaccines, check ups, food most of the time, toys, shampoo, one time cost things(new bed, new leash/collar if needed, etc)

Also, any help or reminders on what I will need money for her would be great because I really want to have EVERYTHING thought out about as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance!

"I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul." - William Henley(Invictus)

"Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air, but only a second without hope. " - Hal Lindsey

"Hope is my philosophy, just needs days in which to be

Love of life means hope for me, borne on a new day,

    you are the new day."

  • Are there any metal collars that dogs can wear as a normal collar for tags/everyday use?

NOT a choke/check chain or a prong collar, just a regular collar to have tags on and wear for everyday use, but metal instead of leather or nylon?

Its getting warmer and my dogs drool ALOT, we also take them swimming alot, so it would be really nice if I could just find a regular collar for them to wear everyday during the summer. Nylon stinks when they drool on it or when it gets wet from swimming and I don't want to ruin their leather collars because they were really expensive.

So if anybody knows of any regular metal collars for everyday use or another type of collar, it would be really helpful!
