Hello! I am going to be a Junior next year and I am taking honors english. For part of our summer assignment we have to read one of the following books: Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya, The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, or The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. Which one should I read? And also I don't know anything about any of them so some info about the story would be great. Thank you

Hello! I am going to be a junior next year and am taking AP US history. For part of our summer assignment we have to read a book regarding American History prior to 1776. What is an interesting book that fits these guidelines? Also I am already reading several books for other classes and am quite busy this summer so shorter books (under 400 pages) would be preferred. I am a sophomore in AP World History and the test is quickly approaching and I feel like I have a lot to learn and I need to do it fast! Does anyone know any free online websites that are useful to help study, also any ideas on how to study would be greatly appriceated

I have been en pointe for about a year and a half and have gone through 7 pairs of pointe shoes I live about 2 hours away from the nearest shop that sell pointe shoes and I have tried on almost everything in the shop in 7 visits and I really don't like any of the ones I tried. I have medium-wide feet but with long toes that taper, a medium arch, and I am about a size 8 in street shoes.I have fairly strong feet and dance en pointe usually about 4-5 hours a week and I keep murdering my shoes. I have tried Bloch European Balance (6xx)which I hated and look awful, Grishko 2007's (51/2xxxxx) which I liked but died very quickly, Capezio Arias (8.5W) which again died very fast, two pairs of Russian Pointe Pollettes (size 38, width 4)I loved my first pair and hated my second, a pair of Bloch Axis which broke really low and offer no support, and a pair of Gaynors (8.5W) which feel to soft and make it hard to lift out of my shoe and also are really short and wide and squish my toes. I have tried a lot of things and none seem to work, alot of the people I dance with order their shoes online and if they don't like them they send them back I was thinking of trying this, is this a bad idea? I want to try shoes like Mirella Advanced, Suffex Solos, and Chacott Veronese II, etc. which they don't have available to try onanywheree near me. Also I would appreciate any shoe suggestions.

I am 15 and am looking for a int. level dance program in Ca for this summer. I have been doing Jazz and modern for 7 years, ballet for 5, and pointe for 1. It would need to have housing and if there are auditions a place that accepts videos.I was thinking of maybe auditioning for CSSSA anyone been there for dance? Thanks

At my high school in the advanced dance class we do a secret santa gift exchange every year. This is my first year in advanced and I want to do something really cool. We have a $15 spending limit so I was thinking of maybe making something and getting some candy or something... idk, any ideas?

Everyone at my dance studio wears these black jazz pant with a little blue and red triangle shaped logo on the back. Anyone know what brand this is?

So I bought the Grishko 2007's three weeks ago and the shank just snapped yesterday. I have a show in two weeks and need pointe shoes now so I can break them in. I live pretty far away from any pointe shoe fitters and my parents really don't want to drive me. The last time I was at the fitters I really liked the Capezio Aria, would ordering them we taking a huge risk? Has anyone tried them? Do you know of any shoes like the Grishko 2007's that last longer?

I am 14 went on pointe in november and I got the bloch balence eurapean 6xx (I am usually a 7and half to an 8 in street shoes) My feet are wide at the metatarsal but VERY narrow through the arch and heel. I am getting new shoes tomorrow thease don't really work for me. Any shoe suggestions? I am thinking of trying griskos, gaynors, or russian pointes. Thanks

At my high school we have a extremely good dance program. The teacher who runs it "Ms. X" is very strict but turns out incredible dancers. I am a freshman and I made it into the intermediate class and really want to be in advanced next year. I am one of the better dancers in class, but every time i make the tiniest mistake she makes a huge deal about in front of the whole class and makes me do it over again. There are people who make huge mistakes and can barley dance yet she never picks on them. I had a ballet teacher who did a similar thing and my jazz teacher said this meant she thought i had potential. Is this what "Ms. X" is doing or does she truly hate me i don't know why she would i have never done anything wrong and i don't talk in class..... Ah help

I am 14 and am looking for a fun 2-3 week long dance or performing arts camp in California. I have taken ballet for three years, jazz for five, and modern for two, and i am starting pointe next week. I also have some experience in hip hop, tap, and swing. Any websites or advice would be great

I really want to go on pointe, i am 14 and have been doing ballet for 4 years and have done alot of other dance too, this year i am taking four ballet classes, two pre pointe classes, two moderen classes, and three jazz classes a week all on an adv. level I can do all of the thiings that people say you need to be able to do for pointe, I want to ask my teacher about it but she just had a baby and won't be back for a while and i don't want to ask her if I am not ready, and yes i know she will tell whan I am ready I was just hopeing someone could give me a guess of when I will go on pointe?

I have been doing ballet for 3 years and I am 14 and I really want too go on pointe. I already have relitivly strong feet and ankles from jazz which is more my thing I am in all adv. classes and I really want to get on pointe with in 6 months. I know about alot of strenghting exercises but which ones really work can someone come up with a workout I can do at home? Please include how many times a day I should do each thing and how many I should do.

I am 14 and going into 9th grade I have been doing ballet for like three years and jazz for 5 I am in like all adv. classes and I dance over 7 hours a week I have really strong ankles and everyone always thinks I am already on pointe. I keep thinking my teacher will put me on pointe soon but she doesn't, but up until now I have not said anything and have just been like I will go on eventually and good things come to those who wait. This summer i went to camp and so I have not been taking classes but I have been dancing on my own. Today I ran into this girl who goes to my studio who is two years younger then me and no wear near as good, and she told me she is going on pointe. I am kind of sad and mad and confused any advice?
