  • Why does my 5 month old baby do this?

I have a baby who is 5 months old, and often when I (we) feed her she'll rock her hips forward and backward. She is fed with a bottle, and just started this recently.

At first I thought maybe she was trying to copy me dancing (of which I do often, and was doing it in front of her the first time she did it). But now she just seems to do it randomly. She doesn't have gas or any other issues I know of...

So basically, I want to know if this is a normal thing?

Is she uncomfortable the the position maybe?

    Does it mean anything specific?

I couldn't find anything useful researching it, so if anyone knows anything, that would be great.

Note: I am a first time mom, so I am easily worried and I always seek answers.

    Thank-you in advance.

  • Will Childrens Aid take away my baby?

Okay long story short, I'm 8 months pregnant and I just started seeing a cousellor. The day after I saw the counsellor Childrens Aid called me and left a message.

I have depression, and I did self harm once at the beginning of my pregnancy (but not any other times). I do have a history of self harm, and before I was pregnant I was abusing alcohol (but stopped as soon as I knew I was pregnant).

I went to couselling in hopes for support so I can be the best mother I can be when my baby is born. My fiance and I have even bought a house...

But now Childrens Aid calls me, I don't know why, all I know about these people is they take away your baby (my friend told me if you self harm they'll take your baby).

Will they take our baby because of my history?

I'm so sad and upset over this, maybe I'm overreacting...

Has anyone else dealt with social services and mental health regarding your baby/children?

It's just really making me so stressed out, I would NEVER hurt my baby in anyway. So I'm just really confused why they had to call social services...

  • Why does it hurt when my baby is in this area of my uterus?

I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant and my baby seems to favour being up in the right side of my uterus... or just on the right side in general.

I wouldn't mind really, except it can really hurt sometimes when it hangs out in the upper part! It's just a constant dull pain that tingles sometimes, and gets really bad when I sit. I massage it sometimes to try and get the baby to move away from there.

    Other notes of importance:

My midwives said my baby was breech when they felt it.

The baby has also been moving a lot lately.

Sometimes when I massage over it I can feel the baby and I can feel that I've pushed it away... sometimes it feels like maybe an arm or leg, and sometime a round head or something.

Does this happen to anyone else? Why does it hurt just in that area?

Could there be something wrong with that area of my uterus?

Why would the baby favour it on the right side?

Would me pushing lightly and massaging that area to move it out of there hurt my baby?

It's just sometimes it's so uncomfortable, but I don't want to hurt my baby! I know I asked a lot of questions... This is just my first pregnancy and I'm a worrier!

Thanks in advance for any information.

  • What do you think of my baby name picks? Any middle name suggestions?

I found out on my ultrasound I'm supposed to be having a girl, but I want to keep in mind both gender names... In case the ultrasound is wrong.

So here is what I was thinking for names... tell me your opinion...

    For a girl: Violet

    For a boy: Jude

    Also...

I'm having a lot of trouble thinking of middle names. I was considering a Finnish middle name, but I can't come up with anything I've liked yet.

    Any suggestions?
